Stock Picks for Tuesday, October 19

SIGA Technologies, Inc.(NASDAQ:SIGA) has been one of the hottest stocks around, trading up from $8.00 to its current price of $14.38, all this month. Monday, the stock closed at $14.06, trading 3x normal daily volume. I am buying SIGA again once it breaks $14.38, but I recommend using the stops on this stock.

Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) released earnings and was one of the big winners on Monday. The stock traded as high as $4.20, before pulling back the last hour of the day. I am watching the stock on Tuesday, and will be buying once the stock breaks through Monday’s high of $4.20. Citigroup could be a good stock for medium-term investment, based on its historical performance and from the technical indicators. Let's keep an eye on it.

GigaMedia Limited (NASDAQ:GIGM) was a bit weak today despite a positive stock market. It appears that the 50-day moving average located at $2.01 was successfully tested. The momentum clearly favors the bulls. As long as GIGM can remain over $2, I like the stock. If $2.10 is broken, look for $2.4-$2.5. Today's pullback has been on lower volume just as it should be. Looking for a nice bounce from here with accumulation and relative strength.

OceanFreight Inc. (NASDAQ:OCNF) - Technical breakout on no news. I don't see anything until the $1.32-$1.5 area. The stock is now back above the 50 day moving average which is very bullish. Let's keep an eye on her as i think momentum will pick up.

Hot stocks to watch next week

ISLN recorded a new high in the last trading session. Short-term outlook for the stock is bullish. If in the next sessions new highs don't happen, I expect to see a decline due to the overbought conditions. On the other hand, new fresh exposures on ISLN should be made only when the stock moves above 17.97. Stay tuned !!

As I said in my last post about THQI, there were buyers in the stock on Thursday. On Friday, the stock rose 29 cents to $4.74, putting its jump last week at 12.4%. The stock was able to maintain its bullish nearest term bias and now seems comfortable stays above the 20 day MA indicating potential further upside recovery testing 5.11 ( 50-day moving average ). A Break above that area could trigger further bullish momentum testing 5.53 and 5.82 region.

OCNF - The stock had a significant bullish momentum on Friday, break above $1, topped at 1.29 and closed at 1.22. The major reistance has been violated to the upside, confirms the bullish continuation targeting 1.63 in nearest term. At this stage, I'm a buyer only once it breaks through Friday’s high of $1.29 for the continuation move. Stochastics and the RSI are overbought but remain bullish signaling.

YRCW broke out Friday on strong volume and should continue all next week. From a technical perspective, the stock is in a short-term Bull Market with share price above 13, 20 and 50 daily moving averages.Let's see if next week the stock will confirm the breakout and continue uptrend to 0.384. Short-term investors can buy with a stop at $0.28 and long-term investors can hold with a stop at $0.22. Stay tuned.

BANR - The stock was technically a mess on Friday. Honestly, I think I will stand aside for now as nearest term direction is unclear. Looking at the technical chart above we can see that in longer term view price is consolidating in range area of 1.90 – 2.31 after a significant bearish momentum. Consistent move above $2.31 area could rigger further upside pressure testing 2.75. Initial support at 2.09.

Stocks to watch for Wednesday june 16

JASO made a nice move today, but the volume could have been better. From a technical standpoint the stock, the stock crossed and closed above its 200 day MA on the daily chart for the first time since the beginning of the month. MACD has generated a buy signal and KD rising we should see stock now starting to go up again. I still like this stock and will continue to watch it for the next few days. The major resistance lies at $5.25 and if this level is breached than the next target would be $5.55 ( 50 day MA ).

TER has broken out from a major resistance line as it closed today at $11.77 per share. It had taken out its 50-day MA at 11.46 and we may possibly be seeing the price heading towards the 12.28 resistance this week. Over the last 52 weeks the stock has ranged from a low of $5.96 to a high of $13.37.

FRPT has been on a nice up move and looks like it wants to go higher. I like that the stock is consolidating and I expect to see a move soon. Resistance stays at $4.40, which is a big area that the stock needs to break. Watch FRPT again on Wednesday, and once it breaks resistance we should see a strong upside move.

OCNF took off today and I will be watching the stock on Wednesday for a follow through move. Since OCNF is a cheaper stock, it has a habit of making very fast moves. The stock has resistance at $0.49, which was the high of Monday. I expect to see the stock test resistance within the next few days.

The stock is trying to regain the ground that it lost last week but it's a difficult task. From a technical perspective, the stock has the opportunity to start new rally as %K line is back above %D line. However since RMBS overall is still weak as the MACD is still below 0 and the stock is below the 50 day MA, wait on the sideline for now before making any investment decision.

Stock Picks for next week

AAPL - The stock had a pretty good rebound on price accompanied with volume. However, I still need to see more with a breakout above 265 and higher volume. The technical daily chart shows the stock is in a strong bull market with 50 day moving averageon top over 200 day moving average. Although KD is showing some weakness as %K line is below %D line, for the long term the stock should continue to go up. If the stock can break through $265, I expect to see momentum drive the price higher.

Last month, I showed a chart of the Cell Therapeutics breaking down. This is obviously an interest sensitive stock waiting for news. The stock gapped down and fell sharply last week. This move created an oversold situation that has been worked with a bounce. I note that the recent volume is decreasing, which portends weakening in the short-term bullish momentum and the trend is unlikely to continue and prices will either increase at a slower rate or start to fall. For the coming week exercise caution in buying.

Sounds like OCNF is gaining some momentum again. The stock has made a strong bounce off of the lows that were posted earlier in the week with high volume. The technical daily chart shows possible new rally as %K line is back above %D line, while the RSI is also gaining strength. If a proper breakout happens at 0.55 we can see a target of 0.703.

Generex Biotechnology Corporation jumped up by 3.16% and closed at $0.392 with total volume of 1.78 million shares. Upside volume has been good lately and there are two levels to watch for a breakout: $0.43 and $0.454. The technical indicators are improving with increased accumulation. Keep GNBT on your radar !!!

Stock Market Alerts for Next week

Motorola has had a nice run over the past days. At this stage, we can see that MOT is now testing its line resistance at 7.44. A break of this resistance level could see the stock testing its strong horizontal resistance line at 7.72. Technical indicators are bullish as MACD momentum and histograms trend higher in positive territory and RSI is moving up. If this chart does what is supposed to do, it will be going higher in the days to come. At the moment, there is no reason to sell the stock.

OCNF tried to move on Friday, but the weak market held it back. The near-term outlook would depend on the price movement in the next few days. A close above $0.80 would impart bullishness and would help the stock move to the 0.85-0.89 band. A drop below $0.71 would have negative implications. Looking at the technical chart, they seem to have been building a base since February and the Stochastic Oscillator is registering a strong bullish signal as the %K has crossed above the %D and the oscillator recently moved above the critical value of 20 and is no longer oversold. I like the stock, I own the stock.

GIGM pulled back a bit this week, as the stock follow the market. I like the daily chart for this stock and expect to see another upside move soon. Resistance stays at $3.32, which was Wednesday’s high. I will want to watch the stock for the next few days, because this move should occur soon.

One penny stock to keep an eye on : EEGI

I told you yesterday about EEGI and today the stock hit a high of 0.025 cents with more than 600.000 shares traded. Looking at the technical daily chart, the short-term outlook for the stock is bullish with both 20, 50 and 200 daily moving averages going up. The stock has just tested its medium-term uptrend line support at $0.012 and rebounded. Further test of this uptrend line is possible. If the uptrend line is not violated, this could be a good entry. EEGI is volatile, so use your stops if the stock does not follow through.

AC Investor trade Ideas for Friday Mar 05

GIGM has a very interesting technical daily chart as the stock looks to be ready for a good upside move. The stock closed up $0.03 on Thursday as it hit a high of $3.15 on the day. Looking closely at the technical daily chart, we can see this high broke above Wednesday’s high, which is another signal for an upside move. All inidicators are still in Bullishs areas. Keep an eye for a possible breakout over $3.15.

The stock looks to be setting up for a breakout move, which could occur very soon. OCNF traded a good volume on Thursday as it closed up $0.04 on the day. I'm buyer of OCNF once it breaks through Thursday’s high of $0.85 for this breakout move.

HOT Stocks for Friday 12 Fev

THQI broke out and never stopped all day on Thursday. There is a good chance the stock will continue to move up. If the stock can break through $6.70, we should see it move up to $7,50. Looking at the technical daily chart the investor sentiment in stock showed by RSI continues strong and MACD still going up. THQI still trading in a strong Bull Market with share price above 20 dma, 50 dma and 200 daily moving average. Although RSI is showing overbought conditions, it is not yet the time to leave as the stock may continue to go up. Technically speaking the stock is painting a “Bullish” picture. The share price is likely to move to the target zone of the 7,25-7,5 range. For the long term the stock should still continue to go up.

The stock made a nice move on Thursday and looks ready to continue on Friday. OCNF was strong all day as it closed up $0.04. If the stock can break Thursday’s high of $0.81, we should see a continuation move. I will buy OCNF above those highs on this breakout move.

Stocks to watch on Tuesday Jan 26

RMBS consolidated on Monday, after its big move on Friday. The way the stock consolidated on Monday, is bullish, as it traded in a tight range. I'm watching the stock again today, as resistance stays at $26. There is a chance the stock will consolidate again this week, but watch it closely in case it makes an early move. MACD has generated a buy signal and is currently above the 0 line. I think the stock will be heading higher. Technically Bullish.

OCNF looks to have finally hit bottom, as the stock bounced on Monday. The stock closed up $.035 on Monday, as it hit a high of $0.926 on the day. I expect to see an increase in volume as traders are always looking for stocks that bounce after a big sell-off. There is good upside in OCNF, so watch it closely today.

DRYS bounced off support again on Monday, as the stock closed near highs on the day. This was the third time the stock has tried to break support, but buyers have come in to support the stock. With the strength the stock showed at the close on Monday, we should see a continued upside move. Resistance is $6.14, which was the high of the day on Monday. Watch DRYS closely over the next few days.

Stocks to watch on Monday Jan 11

OCNF closed strong on Friday, as the stock ended the day at highs. The stock traded 2x normal daily volume, as buyers came rushing in. I like this stock and will watch it again on Monday. Resistance is $1.05, which was Friday’s high of the day. If OCNF can break through, we should see a strong upside move. Technical daily chart shows bullish sign with K line on top of D line and MACD on top of signal line. A decisive break of the 1.05 level on heavy volume, and, we could be looking at OCNF testing its resistance level at $1.17 and $1.20 respectively.

CTIC is still finding resistance at the 1.20 level. The stock needs to muster some strength here, if it can break 1.20, then the technical outlook will turn bullish again.

AOB - The stock is consolidating recent gains in the $4.65-$4.8 area and looks to be forming a pennant on declining volume. I expect it to break out to the upside.

DRYS was a huge winner on Friday, trading up $0.30 on 3x normal daily volume. The stock should be strong again on Monday. I am buying the stock above friday high of $6.85 and expect to see another nice move to the upside. Technical chart shows bullish sign with K line on top of D line and MACD on top of signal line. At this stage, there is no reason to sell the stock. Hold with a stop-loss at $6.14.

Stocks to watch on Monday Jan 04

MPEL is showing signs of buying activity at these levels, as the stock has been able to hold up the past few sessions. Volume has been increasing the past 3 days, as the stock sits in a tight channel. Resistance level in MPEL is the high from Thursday, which is $3.48. Watch MPEL closely on Monday for a possible move.

ETRM tried to rally and made it back above $0.71 on Thursday, but the weak market held it back. I will be watching the stock again and the new resistance level is Thursday’s high of $0.63. A move above this would improve its technical position. Once ETRM breaks through, we should see strong buying move the stock. The 14 day money flow index is showing the signs of accumulation, with buyers having dominated the last two weeks daily volume charts. In addition, the Chaikin Money Flow Index is showing a rising move, indicating a rising money flow into the stock. Keep ETRM on your radar for Monday’s trading session.

OCNF has been trading continually below its falling 13-day moving average since then. To return to rally mode, the stock needs to cross its short-term resistance at $0.978 ( 13-day moving average ). A move above this level would be extremely positive for the stock. A reversal above $0.978 will take the stock higher to $1.04 or $1.09 over the medium-term. Short term momentum is oversold with a positive MACD divergence. The near term indicators are close to being oversold as well. OCNF may show recovery but rally is likely only above $0.978. The stock has good support at $0.92.

Stocks to watch on Tuesday Dez 29

OCNF is bouncing off lows that were set last week and could be ready to move much higher. Resistance is $1.01, which reflects Monday’s high of the day. Looking at the daily chart, I see a bullish divergence signal as the stock makes lower lows in price, while stochastics climb out of oversold conditions with higher lows. I will watch the stock closely on Tuesday as this stock will move quickly and I want to keep it on our screen throughout the day.

MPEL looks to have found support at these levels and could make an upside move soon. I'm watching the stock on Tuesday and I'm buyer if the stock can break through Monday’s high of $3.49. If the stock does break resistance, we should see a good short-term bounce.

OSIR hit resistance again on Monday, but did not break through. This stock is setting up for a nice upside move and I'm going to be there when it occurs. Technically, my model remains long in short-term targeting $8. The Relative Strength Index is moving higher, which is a sign of growing strength in the stock. Also the MACD is giving a positive indication. Keep a very close eye on the stock as it will move quickly once it breaks through resistance.
