Top Trade Ideas for Tuesday Jan 10th

InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC) stock is facing resistance from its 50 day SMA, but there is a good possibility that it will be back in bullish territory soon. Resistances from the 50 day SMA and the 43.25 level need to be crossed convincingly. The technical indicators are supporting the bullishness. Once volume shows up I expect it will take off. Hold.

Sirius XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) stock hit a new six month high today of 2.08 but has reversed most of its early gain and closed at $2.05. The main technical indicators remain conducive, which means the up move should continue this week. The MACD is positive and above the signal line. The RSI is above the 50% and the slow stochastic has entered its overbought zone. A bit of correction or consolidation here may provide the impetus to the bulls to take the stock to a new six-month high.

The down trend in the ReneSola Ltd. (NYSE:SOL) stock has turned into a bear market, confirmed by the death cross in May 2011. The recent rally faced strong resistance from the falling 50 day SMA. The technical indicators are mildly bullish. Observant readers may notice the positive divergences. Buy only on a clear break above the 50-day SMA.

Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN) broke out of the cup and handle pattern today with a successful close above it. Bullish.

After gaining 1 percent for most of the session, THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) spiked in the last minutes of trading to finish at 81 cents, up 9 percent, or 7 cents on no news. The volume was also relatively high and reached 1.7 Million of shares. Whether today's performance could be the start of a real bounce or it's was just a temporary support level, is not yet clear. So, it will require confirmation tomorrow to see if the rally is sustainable.

Dendreon Corporation (NASDAQ:DNDN) is overextended to the upside and signficantly overbought. So don't be surprised if the stock takes a break and corrects back toward $12 before moving higher again. I'd prefer to open new positions on a dip. Technically, the stock is extremely overbought, so we cannot rule out a pull back but at the same time it can remain overbought until it wants to come down. Stay tuned.

Some possible bounce plays to watch next week

The company on the spotlight today is XenoPort, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing a portfolio of internally discovered product candidates, which utilizes the body’s natural nutrient transport mechanisms to improve the therapeutic benefits of existing drugs. The stock on Friday surged 5% or 23 cents to $4.83 per share at two times average volume after the company announced that has received confirmation from its partner, Astellas Pharma Inc., that, following a meeting on December 2, 2011 in Japan, the drug evaluation committee of the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare ("MHLW") recommended approval of gabapentin enacarbil, which will be known by the trade name Regnite in Japan, for the treatment of Restless Legs Syndrome. This positive recommendation will be reviewed by the MHLW prior to its final decision on authorizing the marketing of Regnite in Japan for the treatment of Restless Legs Syndrome. The MHLW will issue a final notification to Astellas regarding its decision, which the Company expects to occur in the first quarter of 2012.

Lets take look at the stock in more detail to see if this is the stock worth buying. XNPT is trading above its 13-day moving average and is approaching its 50-day moving average. A strong bullish trend is often established once shares cross the 50-day MA. The stock has witnessed phenomenal gains in valuation when volume enters. For example, in August shares of XNPT experienced a surge of over 38% in just 5 days !! So, with an influx of volume and light resistance above, the stock could make a solid upward move. There has been building support on shares of XNPT in the past few days with overall higher highs and higher lows, and I believe that from current levels which I believe are now trading at a deep discount from the past investors could witness a solid appreciation in value.

Accuray Incorporated (NASDAQ:ARAY) close the week above its 50-day MA and has broken above its small consolidating range with rising volumes. MACD triggered a buy signal this week also moving slightly near the 0 line. The MACD looks bullish moving higher. The 20 DMA upward cross through the 50 DMA is bullish. The setup indicates that the stock has ample scope to move up.

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) - The daily MACD triggered a Buy signal on Friday and the Histogram turned positive on the daily. The stock needs to take out resistance at the 3.25 area to continue higher. It needs more time to set up again. Keeping it on the list.

TriQuint Semiconductor (NASDAQ:TQNT) nice follow through. From the technical chart MACD and KD both signal positive strength. Looking at the insider transaction I see one recent acquisition of 100,000 shares at a cost of $4.31 from the Director Steven Sharp showing the management is bullish of the company's outlook ( Yesterday I alerted my followers on twitter) . In the past twelve months, 2 other insiders purchased shares, in 5 transactions, for a total cost of $179,656 at an average of $4.73 per share.

A closer look at the technical chart shows the stock broke out of a well defined descending channel formation dating back to November 14th on heavy volume. Poised to run higher. Next line of resistance $1.91 range. Furthermore, based upon watching the trading activity on Friday, I believe that the positive sentiment could be additional reason for investors to look for higher prices and confirmation of an upward trend reversal.

Stock Trade Ideas for Wednesday, Oct 19th

Banner Corporation (NASDAQ:BANR) broke resistance on Tuesday, as the stock closed up $.88 or 6.8% on the day. This should be the first of a bigger move, which could occur on Wednesday. I had mentioned in my previous article (published on October 13th ), it seemed that the money was flowing into the stock as indicated in the technical indicator OBV. The technical chart is now painting a bullish picture. We can expect now some resistance at $15.52 level followed by $16.46 level. Folks, BANR was mentioned on my twitter today.

I'm watching THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) again as the stock looks to be setting up for a big upside move. The stock has a very interesting daily chart. The stock is now back to positive trend again as it is now back above 50 day moving average after staying below the moving average since January. Now with KD rising the stock could be heading for a new bull market rally. The stock hit a high of $1.83 on Tuesday, which is resistance for Wednesday’s move. THQI will move very quickly, so watch the stock very closely over the next few trading sessions.

Yahoo! Inc.(NASDAQ:YHOO) is trading up after hours, as the company released good earnings. I expect YHOO to gap open on Wednesday, possibly gapping above the major resistance level. If the stock does gap above or trade through this level, let the stock consolidate before buying. YHOO should be a hot stock on Wednesday so watch it closely throughout the day.

Affymax, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFFY) Building a nice flag, holding above 13 day. A move on $AFFY above $5.05 could spark a nice short-squeeze. Potential upside of 100% exists for Affymax, based on a current level of $5.01 and analysts' average consensus price target of $10. The stock should find initial resistance at $5.22 and further resistance at its 200-day MA of $6.10

Parker Drilling Company (NYSE:PKD) closed right at the high of the day. The technical daily chart shows the stock is in a rally as %K line is rising on top of %D line as the price is back above 20-day moving average. Fresh exposures may be considered on price weakness, with a stop-loss at $4.30. Further rally is now in favor and target would be $5.40. Key support is now at $4.30, only fall below could take price back towards $4.

Banner Corporation (NASDAQ:BANR) - The technical chart looks to be turning as evidenced by the impending potentially bullish MACD cross. The accumulation distribution chart is still showing some strength in the recent movement. If the stock breaks its 20 day moving average, then definitely keep a close eye on it for further price swings.

Trina Solar Limited (NYSE:TSL) - MACD has moved into a stronger zone. RSI is not showing any divergence from the current movement of price. OBV is showing a growing interest in accumulating the stock.

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) - The technical chart above shows the stock is in a rally as %K line is rising on top of %D line as the price is back above 20 day moving average. Positive MACD action. The RSI is also rising along with the rise in volumes indicates buying interest in the stock. NVTL is also a short squeeze candidate, with a short float at 13.2% (equivalent to 7 days of average volume). Can get interesting. Keep close eye on this one for a major rally to the upside.

Oversold stocks ready to bounce back

Trina Solar Limited (NYSE:TSL) closed with an impressive gain of 93 cents (16%) to end the day at $6.51 after falling about 5% earlier in the session. TSL is still in weak market with 50-day moving average below 200-day moving average. But with rising KD and stablizing stock price we may see some positive movement coming soon. The stock has to break the pressure at 13-day moving average.

What a great trading session for FormFactor, Inc. (NASDAQ:FORM). The stock ended the day at $6.60, up 63 cents (10%) on no news after hitting a new 52-week low of $5.91 earlier in the session. This creates a bullish scenario for tomorrow, one in which the stock opens the day a few ticks higher and then continues its rally. The October $7 call options have been active. I don't see much downside in FORM and expect a move to $7 area soon. The technial chart shows the stock bounced back as ROC was at oversold level. Now with %K line on top over %D line we could see rally coming.

Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ:CSIQ) has made a huge decline the past weeks and looks like a strong squeeze could be in play as price has reacted very well to its long-term support line at $3.

THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) continues being a victim of the bad environment in the tech sector that clearly are penalizing all companies more vulnerable of a possible global slowdown. I still reading a lot of comments given by some credible analysts regarding the actual share price of this stock and the extreme drop that has suffered, however there is no indications yet that the bottom has started to be formed but I still believe in a rebound from this level due to the high oversold conditions. The stock fell hard on Tuesday, but managed a bounce in late trading. Because of this, it has formed a hammer-shaped candle on the daily chart. The breaking of Tuesday’s highs would be a buy signal.

Shares Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) surged 9% to $3.18 per share. With ROC still showing the stock is slightly oversold the stock should be able to keep climbing up.

Stock Watch List For Tuesday, September 27

I would like to congratulate all of my subscribers that profited from my latest biotech pick, MELA !! Shares of MELA Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:MELA) surged 55% to $4.93 per share after the company announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an Approvable Letter for the MelaFind Pre-Market Approval (PMA) application. Last week I projected an upside coming for the stock after see strong signs of accumulation. MELA was very good to me today ! I took profits ( as i told on twitter ) after holding for a couple of days with a nice gain of about 90% but still on radar. RSI is showing overbought conditions right now. The buzz on MELA was really positive today on the boards and today's action could help land MELA on many trader's radars in the near future. If you are still in it, make sure you have your downside protected. The stock hit a high of $6.20, which is resistance for Tuesday’s move. If the stock can break through resistance, we should see a strong follow through move as there is a high short interest in the stock. Watch the stock closely tomorrow.

Stock Picks for Friday 16 September

I have been following RF Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:RFMD) for while and over the last weeks I never seen so many buyers purchasing the stock. The volume over the recent days has dramatically increased. The technical indicator OBV shows exactly this situation. Stochastics and the RSI are overbought but remain bullish signaling. I suspect the stock may continue to appreciate over the coming days.

The change in the market situation is calling for a reversal from a short position to a long position on shares THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI). The MACD-histogram are now sloping up On the daily time frame the daily MACD-histogram has been sloping up indicating that the bears are losing momentum. The RSI is also sloping up and near the equilibrium line. The stochastic is rising and also is approaching the equilibrium line.

We are on the verge of a possible breakout in the shares of Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) .The technical chart shows that the MACD-histogram has been sloping up and the 13 day SMA has just ticked up to give a buy signal on the Impulse System. In addition, the daily slow stochastics and RSI are both rising indicating bullishness. Plus, the weekly MACD-histogram has ticked up and the weekly stochastics is oversold. A move above $3.55 could spark a nice short-squeeze.

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) is just starting to move off its bottom. A break above $3.43 on a close basis could set a temporary rally to $3.65. The volume is picking up which is a good signal, probably a signal of accumulation. Intermediate trend remains neutral. Stop loss for medium-term investors can be at $3.10.

THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) its nice to see this stock back over its 20 SMA with big money volume, which is a very bullish sign. I am curious to see how it reacts today as it sits right below $2. THQI's 50 day moving average is $2.71, yesterday the stock closed at $1.95. In my view there is plenty of room to bounce. Let's see if this chart starts looking better in the days and weeks ahead. If you don't have THQI on your watch list now is as good a time as any to add it.

FormFactor, Inc.(NASDAQ:FORM) - Technical daily chart is showing a bullish engulfing pattern which is bullish in nature, but bulls has to go through a cluster of resistance as shown the red line in the chart. Resistance cluster is from 8.41-8.56 area. Price needs also to keep its head above 13 day moving average which is important for bulls. The daily stochastic is oversold, indicating a higher probability for the daily trend to resume up. Stay tuned.... I still like this stock and I like it even more at this price.

MELA Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:MELA) - The daily MACD-histogram has ticked up, indicating that the bears are losing momentum. The 10-day MA has stopped declining and has flattened out. These factors suggest taking a long position. Looks decent for $2.27 breakout.

Despite the general market's weakness, Sodastream International Limited (NASDAQ:SODA) made an impressive turnaround and rallied almost 2.37% to close the day at $39.72. Resistance for Friday’s move is $40.4, which reflects Thursday’s high of the day. If the stock can break through resistance, we will have a two-bar reversal, which is very bullish for an upside move. Keep a close eye on SODA for Friday.

Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) closed below its 200-day moving average for the first time since October 2008. The next level of interest to watch on the downside is recent support around $205.90.

THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) - Technical chart is currently showing a positive divergence on MACD histogram to price. The volume is also decreasing, which means the trend is unlikely to continue and the decline in prices will slow down. This could be a precursor for a rebound in the stock.
