Stocks to watch for the first trading day of June

Health Management Associates Inc (NYSE:HMA) Strong breakout on high volume. I will be watching the stock again on Monday for a continuation move through Friday’s highs of $14.13. The MACD indicator on chart shows the strength of conviction behind this Bullish trend. Lets keep an eye on it.

Marathon Petroleum Corp (NYSE:MPC) It's trading near the apex of triangle and could break either way at this point. Play accordingly.

As you can see in the chart above, last Friday the stock closed right at the 20-day EMA support level. If it breaks through and also closes below this key level, the price could have a further decline with a downside target around 6. Technicals are showing that a potential short-term top may be in place.

ITT Educational Services, Inc. (NYSE:ESI) closed last week below the key resistance of 24.53 (EMA200), so the pullback should continue next week.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT Consolidating nicely after a big run. For the coming week, watchout for a possible breakout over $35.27 which is the previous high.

RR Donnelley & Sons Co (NASDAQ:RRD) Breaking out to new highs on solid volume, looks good for higher prices.

Stocks to Watch for April 25, 2013

In line with my anticipation, NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) confirmed today the reversal when it broke out above the $13.23 level. The stock price is now riding on an upward movement and trading above all three EMAs, with the 50-day EMA about to cross above the 200-day EMA. The technical indicators are looking bullish. The MACD is positive and above its rising signal line. Both the RSI and slow stochastic are above their 50% levels. Technically, my model remains long, targeting $14.

Merck & Co., Inc. (NYSE:MRK) tagged a new high but closed poorly. Shareholders may remain invested with a stop-loss at $46.40

Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) surged for the fourth straight day by adding 3.98% or 57 cents to $14.9 per share. Momentum indicators are bullish now with RSI inching away above the middle level and with MACD crossing above signal line. Price is expected to at least rally the next resistance at $16 and even go higher to test the next resistance level at $17.22. I'm really bullish on this stock.

After consolidating sideways the last few weeks with an upward bias, the stock broke out upwards today, accompanied by a volume surge. Looks good for higher prices.

As expected Tellabs, Inc. (NASDAQ:TLAB) found support near 1.92. This coincides with the November lows. In the short term, we could argue the stock has produced a bullish double bottom, but we need to see a rebound from these lows. A close over 2 might suggest the stock has found a bottom.

I believe shares of MBIA Inc. (NYSE:MBI) have room for a significant uptick beyond these levels. The stock price crossed above the 50-day EMA today giving a buy signal and an indication that the stock may have finally reached its bottom. The technical indicators are looking mildly bullish. RSI is moving up and the MACD has a bullish crossover. Let's keep an eye on it.

Four Stocks to Watch Next Week

Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ:RMBS) - The stock looks like is close to attempting another breakout. This strength is confirmed by price movement as well as two momentum indicators. MACD and RSI show buy signal as MACD is above signal line and RSI above its 50% level. The stock has held support at the $20.86 level and is displaying a screaming buy divergence on the upside. RMBS is also slowly under accumulation based on the OBV indicator. I think the market is waiting for fresh news to define the trend, however if the stock breaks above $21.43 ( red line ) , then that is a bullish sign as higher prices.

MBIA Inc. (NYSE:MBI) caught my attention today. The signal to buy was given today when the previous day high at $11.02 was taken out. This breakout suggests a possible move to $12. Technical indicators such as KD also show buy signal as %K line has just crossed on top over %D line. In addition, the positive money flow index is confirming the upside movement and the volume was significantly higher compared with last two days. Although the stock didn't perform well this year, we start to see now some signals of rebound as the technical chart shows positive momentum is back. Stay tuned !!

NVDA's stock made a nice rebound today with 2.85% gain. The technical chart shows very positive sign as the stock has bounce back up after dropping near 30-day moving average. Daily technical indicator CCI has increased from below -100, which signals a reversal (higher). The overall outlook for the stock appears bullish. Only a close below $22 would negate the bullish outlook.

Nokia Corp., said Friday it plans to use Microsoft Corp.'s Windows Phone software as the main platform for its smart phones in an effort to pull market share away from Apple's iPhone and Android, Google's software for phones and tablets. Unfortunately, and after looking closely at this deal I think it's a completely mistake this step forward, because the popularity of Windows Phone software is really soft doesn't have momentum and for sure will lose more market share for its rivals. Google Inc.'s Android software would be the best option. It's growing fast and has emerged as the choice for phone makers that want to challenge the iPhone. There is no sense in this choice. That's the reason of the drop in shares after the announcement. Everybody knows this option could be another sucker bet. Although the company still is the mobile industry's No. 1, it has suffered from plummeting market share, dropping from a high of 41% in 2008 to 31% in the last quarter of 2010. I keep my bearish bet on Nokia, as a stock to avoid. Motorola Mobility is my top pick in this sector. From a technical standpoint, the trendline support has been broken today on the daily chart at $ 9.62 with the next target at $8.44. I would exit longs at this time. An aggressive trader may want to short NOK here. Technically, the stock is in a Bearish mode with the price below both 50 and 200 day moving averages.

Stock Market Ideas for Thursday, February 10

In line with my prior expectation, Toll Brothers, Inc. (NYSE:TOL) moved up on Wednesday and is testing key resistance currently. Hence, fresh long position is recommended only if the stock climbs above $21.95 with tight stop-loss at $21.34.

JDS Uniphase Corporation (NASDAQ:JDSU) had a strong day and broke through its resistance line. The volume confirmed the breakout, as it was greater than average. This is what strong stocks generally do in a rebound : break resistance, hold the breakout and continue higher. The technical chart shows a very strong upward momentum as the stock is above the 50 day moving average with both 200 day and 50 day moving average going up. In addition , RSI and MACD also show very bullish signs.

There appears to be marginal downside risk on Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC) from prevailing levels. The near-term trend is bullish and a move to the 15-15.24 range appears likely. The overall trend appears really positive.

The recent reversal in MBIA Inc. (NYSE:MBI) could be a buy signal. MBI traded down today, but not enough to make me stop watching. The volume was weak compared with recent sessions when prices rose, which means traders are not betting on the downside. I think the stock is still in a consolidation range, waiting to make a big move. This stock is going to have a big move and it should be to the upside.

The short bullish momentum of GigaMedia Limited (NASDAQ:GIGM) continued today. The stock has recovered nicely and can potentially set-up very well for a swing-trade if the stock breaks through the resistance level at $1.30. Technical indicators are becoming more favorable with MACD and Stochastics starting to turn up. There could be good upside in this trade, so watch GIGM closely tomorrow.

Other stocks to watch :

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTIC) stock continues to hold $.35 but seems to have stalled here. A break below from this point forward would be very bearish.

Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARNA) - I still like the stock for long term prospects.

Stock Market Ideas for Thursday, January 20

InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC) made a nice move today on volume and made a 52 week high but could not hold it on the close. I want to watch the stock again tomorrow, because the stock is strong and getting stronger every day it seems. If it can close above $51.03, then expect more upside. The daily chart shows IDCC is on a strong bull market as the stock is trading above 50 day and 200 day moving with both moving average pointing upwards. I think the stock should continue to go up.

Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) had another very productive day today as we saw gains of over 1.4% and I believe it has more room to run. The short-term outlook remains positive for the stock. The stock finds an immediate resistance at 23.77 and support at 22.52 followed by 21.78.

MBIA Inc. (NYSE:MBI) - Sell stop triggered at $13.02 after breaching major horizontal support line. It is possible to see the price drop to the 11.90/11.62 area.

Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ:RMBS) attempted to push higher today, topped at 21.26 but further bullish momentum was rejected as price whipsawed to the downside, bottomed at 20.78 and closed at 20.87. After peaking at 21.80 area the stock has retraced to test trendline support round about 20.70 - 20.58 area. If the stock can hold above this support zone we could assist to a rebound for a retest of December highs. I feel there are buyers accumulating the stock. Technically speaking, many of Rambus indicators are looking even stronger, so keep watching the stock !

5 Stocks on the Move

I think Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ:RMBS) is setting up for a strong move, probably into the twenty two to twenty five dollar area at first. The stock has been under accumulation for a couple days now and today it broke through two major resistance levels. The momentum is back in this stock. The next major resistance level is around $22.80... so a lot more room on the upside. The volume on accumulation days consistently exceeded the volume on distribution days. That's always a bullish sign. In addition, the technical chart above shows the stock is in a bull market as MACD is on top of signal line, OBV is moving up and Money Flow-Index still climbing both indicating buy. The Stochastic Oscillator is also registering a strong bullish signal as the %K is above the %D. The stock is also on top of 50 day and 200 day moving average showing the stock is in bull market. The stock price can head towards the $22.50/22.80 zone. If this zone is surpassed, getting to $25 would be a possibility. I would not be suprised to see a day with a good sized opening gap up. I hope I am right ........watch the stock closely next week.

Popular, Inc. (NASDAQ:BPOP) had a strong day as the stock closed up 9 cents on heavy volume. Today’s high of $3.38 is now resistance for the continuation move that should occur very soon. I'm a buyer of BPOP once it breaks resistance, as I expect to see a strong upside move.

The technical chart above, shows a breakout. MBIA Inc. (NYSE:MBI) broke above resistance on Tuesday and hasn't looked back since. Watch this stock to see if resistance become support now.

Breakout Stocks To Watch on Friday

Denison Mines Corp. (AMEX:DNN) continues its upward trend. Since the beginning of this month, DNN share prices have increased from $1.63 to today’s high of $2.05 for 27% gains. Looking at the daily chart, the stock has been trading above both 50 day and 200 day moving average, a very bullish sign. Positive MACD also indicates that the stock is a buy. The stock hit a high of $2.05, which is resistance for Friday’s move. There is a lot of upside potential in DNN, so watch it closely on Friday.

Frontier Communications Corp (NYSE:FTR) has broken out to all time highs during today session. At the present level she's incredibly extended. I'm bullish on this stock, but in situations like this, I prefer to wait for a pull back rather than chase the market. Technically the stock is still in a very strong bull market with MACD on top of signal line and 50-day moving average on top of 200-day moving average. Keep watching FTR.

MBIA Inc. (NYSE:MBI) broke out of a consolidation range, to make new 52-week highs. The stock hit a high of $13.10, which is resistance for Friday’s move. I still feel there is more upside in this stock and will watch it again on Friday. Keep a close eye on the stock for the follow through move.
