Chart setups to keep an eye on next week

Forum Energy Technologies Inc (NYSE:FET) surged 8.77% Friday on one of the heaviest volume sessions this year, with 2.87 million shares traded. The broke out of a key horizontal resistance line and closed slightly below the high of the day, which now represents the next resistance for the follow through move on Monday. If a breakout above this level occurs, we could see a continuation of current momentum toward the 19.2-19.85 range.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE:KKD) Should be on watch next week for a possible breakout out of current consolidation (Bullish flag). If a breakout above 17.53 occurs, we could see an acceleration of momentum and move toward the 18-18.60 area.

Relypsa Inc (NASDAQ:RLYP) has been pulling back after massive one day rally on 7th of April. As you can see from the chart above, in this corrective phase the stock has found support on its rising 50-day EMA on multiple occasions. At this point and with the company being mentioned as a potential takeover candidate, traders could expect a strong bounce and a potential breakout of the downtrend line. CMF is positive and accumulation remain high.

Despite the overall market correction, Friday was a good session for Gold stocks, including IAMGOLD Corp (NYSE:IAG). The stock gained another 22 cents, or 6.92%, breaking out of a consolidation pattern to the upside with volume backed confirmation. The daily technical chart above shows the stock is in a bull market rally as MACD is on top of signal line and in positive territory. In addition, the medium-term trend is also bullish as the stock is above the 50-day and 200-day exponential moving averages with both moving averages going up.

DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ:DRYS) delivered nice gains for traders last week (Twitter alert). The stock closed the week with a gain of 65%. There were plenty of opportunities throughout the week to get involved in this particular sector and easily book a profit. For those of you that booked a profit, congratulations on a great week. From a technical perspective, we are now starting to look overbought in the short-term, so we could see some profit taking for a test of its 100-day EMA support.

Paragon Shipping Inc. (NASDAQ:PRGN) was the stock of the week gaining more than 750% in just two trading days. After strong gains, the risk of profit taking is high, so play wityh tigh stops.

Vringo, Inc (NASDAQ:VRNG) is a low float stock to keep an eye on. I am still watching VRNG shares of due to the recent price action, volume, news and momentum. Daily technical chart shows a possible reversal in the making. Most of its key indicators, particularly the MACD and the 14-day relative strength index are displaying positive divergences. Plus, the ADX indicator is starting to move into strong territory. Overall, the stock is showing some positive technical signs of reversing its long-term downtrend. If it breaks this downtrend line, the first target on a swing would be the $3.50 area.

After the recent rally in oil stocks, Friday's pull back on Bonanza Creek Energy Inc (NYSE:BCEI) should be seen as a natural and welcome movement. As long as the stock closes above the 3.70 level, the Bullish trend intact.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) The price action on Friday created a potential/temporary bottom. A rise above the 95 level next week should confirm the reversal. Plus, the extreme oversold reading from the slow stochastic and RSI indicators, suggest that prices are due for some recovery and base building imho. Stop Friday's low.

Stocks to Watch for October 27, 2014

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE:KKD) I continue to support the idea of a possible break out of this consolidation pattern. As long as 16.50 support holds the sideways movement could be treated as consolidation of the uptrend from 15, and another rise to 19.30 area could be expected after consolidation. A break of 18.09 resistance will signal completion of the consolidation pattern.

Image Sensing Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISNS) did not manage to hold a bullish momentum as the stock failed to close above the resistance level of 3.28 corresponding to the daily 50 exp moving average. I feel that this stock is going to eventually breakout to the upside next week considering the fact that the impulsive candle that formed on Wednesday was very strong but it could be a difficult fight. Present technical indicators are in favor of Bulls. Further rise is still possible and next target would be at $4.13 area. Support is at 2.50, only break below this level will indicate the uptrend reversal down.

VirnetX Holding Corporation (NYSEMKT:VHC) continued its upward movement last week from 4.03 and the rise extended to as high as 5.89. Further rise could be expected and next target would be at 6.50 area. Support is at 4.85 only break below this level could bring price back to re-test 4 support. Technicals indicate further upside potential.

MELA Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:MELA) stock price rose during the course of the session on Friday but gave back all of the gains to close flat. I do believe that this stock will break above the 2.30 level in the coming sessions based on the technical chart above. The MACD continues to rise and so is the RSI. This is telling us the bullish trend could continue. In addition, this stock broke the downtrend line on Tuesday accompanied by strong volume and has the potential to go higher.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) finally broke to new highs on Wednesday. The stock remains in uptrend from 95.18. Further rise could be expected next week and next target would be at 108 area. Support levels are at 103.74 and 101.97 only break below these levels could signal completion of the uptrend. I remain bullish on the stock as technical indicators continue to point to an upside bias.

FireEye Inc (NASDAQ:FEYE) has started a resistance breakout of the 30.85 level. Further rise could be expected and next target would be at 35 area. All technical indicators continue to point to higher prices.

Exelon Corporation (NYSE:EXC) is setting up a possible resistance breakout trade. Next buy/add on the break of resistance at 36

Stocks to Watch for October 17, 2014

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE:KKD) broke out of its bullish flag / consolidation today, with a gain of 1.89% to 17.77. This breakout puts the stock up against its horizontal resistance line that has contained prices in this area in the last 4 weeks. A move above 18.09 would confirm the trend with a target of 21. From a technical standpoint the outlook continues to be positive for the stock, as it convincingly has crossed above all 5 EMAs with bullish structure on charts.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) looks poised for a possible trend reversal after dropping to the 8.70 level forming a potential double bottom on daily. A move above 9.44 would confirm the trend with a short-term target of 11.

Rubicon Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:RBCN) finished the day up 6.79% on solid volume of over 1.4 million of shares exchanging hands on the day. Looking at the chart this looks to be just the beginning of RBCN's run and I'm extremely confident that the gains will continue. The MACD momentum is rising and RSI is on a decent uptrend, which when combined with the strengthening MACD could spell a nice move for the stock. Key resistance is now located at $4.80, a break above this level will confirm the bullish trend and the following uptrend will take price up to $6 zone.

Extra Space Storage, Inc. (NYSE:EXR) Keep an eye for a possible breakout over $55.42

Pernix Therapeutics Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:PTX) Broke out to a new all-time high accompained by a strong volume suggesting higher levels. The stock hit a high of $9.69 which is now resistance for Friday’s follow through move.

Stocks to Watch for October 18, 2013

NQ Mobile Inc (NYSE:NQ) broke out to new 52-week highs today. I am expecting to see the stock continue this move on Friday. As long as the stock stays above its 50-day exp moving average the bullish scenario is still intact. Technical chart shows bullish sign with %K line on top of %D line and MACD on top of signal line. Long setup.

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) breakout with decent volume today, most likely has a few more moves in it.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE:KKD) Good long setup (Inverted Head & Shoulders pattern), if it takes out the 23.53 level on volume.

Short covering in some rare earth stocks produced strong gains in Avalon Rare Metals Inc (NYSEMKT:AVL) stock, that closed above its short-term exp moving averages on solid volume. This could be a significant turning point. On watch.

Achillion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ACHN) performed well today, closing up 3.7% on no news. Daily technical indicators are showing signs of turning around, which suggest a near-term bottom, including large positive divergences on MACD, Stochastics & RSI in daily. If the potential buy signal confirms itself, I will be looking for a move to the resistance area at 3.28-3.5 at the very least.

Ariad Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARIA) is another Biotech name that looks poised for bounce from bottom. Daily RSI starting to turn up from deep oversold levels. I think short term the stock will break back over $5.

Royale Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:ROYL) starting to get some momo once again. In my view, the stock has formed a bottom in short-term and I expect a move past 2.76 to take the stock towards the target of 3.10 with stop-loss at 2.41. The daily technical indicators are looking mildly bullish. RSI is moving up and the MACD has a bullish crossover. Let's keep an eye on it.

After consolidating sideways the last few days with an upward bias, Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) broke out upwards today, accompanied by a volume surge. Looks good for higher prices.

Stocks to Watch for October 17, 2013

Wednesday's high volume breakout, could be the start of a nice squeeze higher for Lihua International Inc (NASDAQ:LIWA). Over 7% of float is short (15 days to cover). The stock had a large spread and volume, successfully breaking several resistances lines at 5.21 and 5.37. Also worth noting is the stock price which is now above all major exponential moving averages. Looking at the technical indicator MACD, the MACD is now above the zero line and the AC/DT is turning UP, both signs also indicate strength in the stock. Look for a quick run to $5.9 then on to $6.45

I had this China stock on my watch list and it did not disappoint today. Congrats everyone who bought Gulf Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ:GURE) when I put out an alert on twitter this morning.

Gevo, Inc. (NASDAQ:GEVO) The decline over the last weeks occurred on lower volume and the stock is firming around 1.80. Technically, the stock still in downtrend in short-term but at this level is showing some resistance to move down. Sustained move above the 1.88 level could signal development of a new uptrend. GEVO looks like it is gonna squeeze some shorts to me. The current days to cover is 19.8 and the Short Percent of Float is 26.05%. Let's keep an eye on it.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE:KKD) Looks like it could be forming an Inverted Head and Shoulders pattern, if so a break of the neckline of 23.53 would give upside target of 28.

Looking at the technical daily chart of Superconductor Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:SCON), the stock price is quickly approaching a BIG breakout if the stock can manage to trade above $1.82. A strong volume move above that level, could set the stock up to retest its August highs of $2.23. Momentum picking up with MACD climbing and RSI rising. The stock has a gap to be filled between 2.25 and 2.50.

Thursday February 28th watchlist

FormFactor, Inc. (NASDAQ:FORM) had a nice surge a few weeks ago and has been in the process of consolidating. The technical chart shows an inverted Head & shoulders pattern with a downward sloping neckline near 5.15. A break above the neckline would give a measured move target of nearly 5.85. MACD ready to cross again.

Jive Software Inc (NASDAQ:JIVE) broke out above its 200-day SMA on expanding volume. This momentum could push this stock much higher from here. Next resistance is now seen at $18

United Continental Holdings Inc (NYSE:UAL) is still trading around $27 which has been a strong resistance over the past several days. I now plan to buy the stock if it can break Monday's high of $27.22. The trend is still up.

Santarus, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNTS) breakout over $13.58 for a daytrade

Still watching Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE:KKD), will buy on a close above $13.44
