China stocks to watch next week

Baidu.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:BIDU) - Major support line has been broken this week on the daily chart at $116.24 with the next target at $96.53. An aggressive trader may want to short BIDU here. Technically, the stock is in a Bearish mode with MACD below signal line and the price below both 50 and 200 day moving averages. The stock has a strong support in the psychological level of 100, but any close below this level could start a new sell off.

SINA Corporation (NASDAQ:SINA) - The technical daily chart looks bad. The MACD indicator is way below its signal line showing a bearish bias. There is no divergence in the MACD with respect to price movement, so it is not logical to expect a sustainable rebound at this level, even trading near the major support. The RSI indicator is in oversold territory, but stocks that are in a downtrend will stay in oversold region for extended duration before rebounding. From now, with the technical chart not showing any sign of rebound, it is best to avoid the stock until a clearer picture emerges. Stay tuned on SINA.

It looks like Sohu.com Inc. (NASDAQ:SOHU) is in a free-fall mode with the first barely visible level of support at $45. There is the old adage of never catch a falling knife, so I'm remaining cautious. In other words, the area around $45 and $40 are strong supports from where a reversal is possible. If it breaks $40, the stock is doomed. Not a pretty picture. Long positions must be avoided.

ReneSola Ltd (NYSE:SOL) - Seems like a falling knife scenario to me. Don’t buy it on the way down. The stock could really be near the bottom right now, but it is near impossible to predict the absolute bottom. Any close below $1.68 will reconfirm the short-term downtrend and forecast substantial additional losses.

Shanda Interactive Entertainment Ltd ADR (NASDAQ:SNDA) is in a bearish phase and I have to say that the recent downtrend does not appear be complete. The stock dropped to a new 52-week low in final trading Friday. Shares ended the day down $1.54, or 4.95 percent, to close at $29.54 on heavy trading. On the chart, the technical indicators remained bearish at Friday’s close and showed the main trend of the stock was still negative. The stock is still in very weak market as 50 day moving average is still declining and MACD is still below 0. In addition KD also show weak signal, %K line is dropping below %D line.

Trina Solar Limited (NYSE:TSL) - Technically, the chart looks horrible and the short-term trend is bearish, but the stock is now in EXTREMELY oversold conditions and may rise back soon. TSL seems to have a lot of potential and someone is accumulating shares like here. The stock is now in the strong support zone at $6 and still persistence oversold. We could see STO turning up slightly. However, the MFI is turning up, indicating the inflow of the money into this stock which is can be consider as a positive sign. I like this stock. Stay tuned.

Stock Market Alerts for Thursday, Oct 07

THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) has been in the process of consolidating here for an another big up move. The stock has weathered the recent pullback without too much chart damage. Short-term outlook remains bullish with $3.91 support intact. A break above $4.23 would confirm the possibility of a move up to the target price of $5. On the other hand, a decline below the 50-day moving average would blunt such a possibility. Looking at the technical chart above MACD and KD both signal positive strength. The stock still trading above 20 day and 50 day moving average, also a bullish sign.

ReneSola Ltd. ( NYSE:SOL) is losing some upside momentum with a bearish divergence in stochastics on weakening trend. Nevertheless, further rally is still expected with $11.50 support intact. Current rise is still in favor to continue to retest $12.72 high. However, note that break of $12.02 support will suggest that a short term top is formed.

Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) continues to consolidate below $80.08 but with $75.92 support intact, short term outlook remains bullish. Further rally is still in favor as long as the minor support holds. On the downside, below $78.09 ( 13-day moving average ) will argue that a short term top is formed, possibly with bearish divergence condition in the daily MACD and will turn bias back to the downside for $75.92 support.

The outlook remains positive for JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ:JASO), which is ruling near its 52-week high. As long as it stays above $7.96, the outlook would remain positive. If the current trend sustains, the stock could reach $13.48. It finds an immediate support at $8.50.

With a temporary top in place at $.3925, the bias in Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTIC) remains neutral for the moment. Deeper retreat could be seen to $.372 and below. But after all, another rise remains in favor as long as $.372/.37 support zone holds. The short-term trend seems to be positive.

Hot stocks for Thursday Sep 30

Starting with SOL, on the daily chart the present uptrend is getting confirmed as the days go on. The major trend is still bullish as we can see on the chart above. The bias is Bullish in nearest term. Immediate support remains at $11 followed by $10.28. I'm using today’s high of $12.29 as resistance for tomorrow. A break above that area could trigger further bullish momentum towards $13.

Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ:CSIQ) was one of the big winners on Wednesday. The technical indicators are looking better now for the stock. CSIQ has broken the horizontal resistance line with heavy volume and looks like it will continue to run up. Looking at the daily technical chart the stock has just entered into a short-term bull market as the stock is on top of 20 day and 50 day moving averages. Other technical indicator such as MACD, is above 0 showing positive momentum while KD line also show buy signal as %K line is on top of %D line. Technically speaking the stock is now painting a “Bullish” picture. The share price is likely to move to the target zone of the 17-17.69 range.

JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ:JASO) broke out on Wednesday and made a new 52-week high of $9.26. I'm keeping JASO on the list for the continuation move. The stock had big buyers in it all day and looks ready to make another move on Thursday. The technical chart shows a continuation of the trend with MACD and RSI in the Bullish areas. Watch the stock closely tomorrow and once it breaks $9.26, get ready to jump in and buy the stock.

Lihua International, Inc. (NASDAQ:LIWA) - As long as the stock holds above the $8.35 support level the intermediate-term picture should remain positive. LIWA has made a transition from down trend to uptrend. The short-term trend is bullish and a move to the $9.11 appears likely.

Generex Biotechnology Corporation (NASDAQ:GNBT) had a nice surge a few days ago and has been in the process of consolidating. The stock is displaying upside momentum again and is poised to move higher from these levels. Nearest resistance for the stock is at $.53. If this level is crossed and the stock is able to sustain above this level, then it might go to $.62. On the downside, the stock has support at $.48. The stock is currently in a new uptrend. I feel this stock will easily make a strong move to the upside.

Solar Stocks in review - AKNS , CSUN , JASO, FSLR , SPWR

There is no doubt the solar stocks are hot. Solar stocks had a huge run up in 2007, but 2008 could be a different year for some of them, we may see some price stabilization or some profit taking, but honestly is too early to predict some possible scenario, it will depend of many factors, and one of them is the current speculative high price of Oil. Even after 2007 phenomenal stock price increase, Investors interest in solar-sector stocks continues to rise, this sector continue under the attention of many players on the market. I have been watching the solar sector for a while now and honestly I’m now more cautions than I was before, concerning the current instability in the general markets, that for sure should contaminate also this sector. Anyway, this is the sector of the future, from now on greens energy’s will be always on focus. I am going to publish below several charts and some comments of some of the big players of this sector.
