Stock picks for Friday May 28
( click to enlarge )NTAP - Shares of NetApp Inc. rose 17% to 38.17 after the company forecasting higher sales this quarter than analysts estimated. The stock broke out today on higher volume ( 4x normal daily volume ) above a major resistance point. This should be the first part of a bigger move, which is why I'll be watching the stock closely on Friday.
( click to enlarge )FRPT is one stock that has sold off the past few weeks, but today’s move could be the start of a turnaround. The stock closed above a key resistance point and is setting up for an upside move. I feel there will be an upside move very soon, which is why I continue to follow this stock. Resistance stays at $4.70, which was Wednesday’s high. Early in the morning Merriman Curhan Ford reiterated a buy rating and $7-8 price target on shares of Force Protection after it was selected to provide two prototypes for test drive for the Australian Minister of Defense. A Merriman Curhan Ford analyst states, "With high operational tempo in Afghanistan, and a large and growing backlog of modernization projects, we think there is good visibility for the rest of the year and upside. In addition, we have not built in potential international vehicle production wins, which could also drive estimates higher." Keep a close eye on FRPT for Friday.
( click to enlarge )The stock has been in an uptrend since mid November 2009. ARUN has pulled back to its trend line, and looks to be setting up for another upside move. Resistance is $14.02, which was April’s high. If the stock can break through resistance, we should see an increase in volume as traders like to watch this stock.
