Stock Market Alerts for next week

LVLT - This stock seems to be forming a large ascending triangle with resistance at $1.77. So there is a possibility that this stock’s day hasn’t come yet, but this I will be able to find out next week as the formation is already near the apex and is due for either a breakout or a fizz-out. If this does not breakout for next week, then the lines would have to be redrawn. Resistance is at $1.77, while target price is aournd $2.56 if resistance is broken.

I am keeping PLUG on the list. After struggling the last few days to get back above $0.65, Plug stock has now closed back above the 5 day moving averages.

PALM’s daily chart is very promising. The last trading day for PALM saw a large spike in volume after an analyst said the cell phone maker might be worth more then generally thought if it is bought out. Mike Abramsky at RBC Capital Markets wrote in research report Friday that a buyer might pay as much as $14 per share for Palm, if it really wants Palm's well-reviewed new operating system, webOS. "Potential acquirers may look beyond Palm's struggling hardware business and capital structure and see a rare opportunity to acquire a modern Smartphone OS, unique R&D team and budding developer ecosystem," Abramsky wrote. At this stage, I could not see any formation, at the very least, it could have broken out of a sideways channel with a target price of above 6.50. The technical indicator MACD seems to be confirming a positive movement for this stock, I just don’t have an idea up to where this will take the price. Upcoming resistance is at 6.29 which is the 50 day MA. I am looking for PALM to break out, through Friday’s high of $6.75. Keep a close eye in case it takes off.

DRYS still trading above the 200 day moving average which could act as strong support at about $6.18. The short-term indicators also give a bullish view. All short-term indicators are in upward path. Postive MACD indicates that the stock is a buy. A move past $6.74 would be a strong indicator of a further uptrend in the stock. On the other hand, a decline below the 6.30 level would indicate further weakness in the stock.

ROYL is still finding support on the 200 DMA and moving sideways on lighter and lighter volume. The stock continues to stay above this key level, a very bullish and healthy sign. As long as a stock remains above the 200-day moving average, I will buy the pullbacks.

Other stocks to watch :

Ensign Services Inc ( ESVC ) - This is something to watch. ESVC stock had a great day on Friday. This stock not only had momentum, it had also some volume. ESVC broke out of a trading range between $1.45-$1.50 in a weak market and topped out at $1.55. A break above this level will take the stock back to the major resistance area at $1.65.

China Technology Development Group Corp. ( CTDC ) - The stock has closed back below the 10 day moving average. The first signs of weakness but we will have to give this a few days, because the volume was light compared with other such days. On the upside, there will be resistance between $3.10-$3.15, a close above this area would be bullish and bring in additional buyers.

Novelos Therapeutics ( NVLT ) - The stock declined to a support zone and upside volume is starting to pick up - watch resistance at $0.279.

Hemispherx BioPharma ( HEB ) - The stock remains in a clear uptrend

OceanFreight Inc. ( OCNF ) - The pattern at work looks like a symmetrical triangle, which is typical for consolidations. The upper and lower trendlines are converging and the direction of the break will provide the next signal.

Cell Therapeutics ( CTIC ) - The stock continued to move downward to sideways.

Ambac Financial Group, Inc. Com ( ABK ) - The stock had a very large spread last Monday, which was accompanied with large volume as well. It is possible that this stock may be forming a flag or pennant formation.

Boston Scientific Corporation C ( BSX ) - The stock made a big move last week, it was able to move past 2 important levels of resistance in just one day.

MGM Mirage Common Stock ( MGM ) - Looks like this is the long awaited correction to the upward movement of the stock. Possible support is at 12.85, which was the previous resistance that was broken.

Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd ( MPEL ) - The stock broke down below its upward trend. Sell down last Friday had a very large volume. For now stay away from this stock. RSI and Stochastics are pointing to a correction by next week and possibly a retest of resistance at 4.47 ( 50 MA ).

Rambus ( RMBS ) - The stock is consolidating recent gains in the $23-23.50 area and looks to be forming a pennant on declining volume.
