Stocks to Watch Next Week

It looks like Ciena is finding support on its 13-day Moving Average. Short-term outlook for the CIEN is bullish. If in the next sessions new highs don't happen, I expect to see a decline due to the overbought conditions. On contrary, new fresh exposures on CIEN should be made only when the stock move above $14.86. If you are a short-term trader, use a stop loss at $14.22. Technically, the stock is in a Bull Market with share price above 20 dma, 50 dma and 200 daily moving average. Keep it on the radar.

AIB was a winner today. The stock rose $0.11, or 4 percent, to $2.83. The Stochastic Oscillator is registering a strong bullish signal as the %K has crossed above the %D. Moreover, the daily RSI is also displaying positive divergence and has recovered from deeply oversold levels. Resistance is seen at the 20-day moving average, currently at $2,98, with major resistance found at $3.5.

PLUG - The technical indicators are displaying good signs. Buy at the break of $0.53 and target $0.573. Stop below $0.50.

Solar stocks to watch on Friday

Over the last 52 weeks JASO has ranged from a low of $1.77 to a high of $6.95. Technicals have turned bullish signaling sideways to higher prices possible in the near term. Next targets for the stock are 5.33 and 5.59. Only a close above $5.59 reverses the current short-term downtrend. Let's keep an eye on it.

SOL made a strong upside reversal today. The technical chart above suggests that stock might find now resistance at $5.40. Only a close above this level would suggest further upside. Remain invested with a stop loss at $4.973.

There has been a persistent decline in ENER since January tempered with short-lived and unconvincing rallies. From the technical chart the long term trend is still weak as the stock is still below 200 day moving average with the moving average keeps falling. ENER needs to close above $7.728 in order to alleviate the negative near term view.

This is a short term look at Rambus chart :

- Wednesday, RMBS closed again below its 10 day moving average. This is generally considered to an indication of a short term bearish trend.
- The Stochastic Oscillator is registering a bearish signal as the %K has crossed below the %D.
- The On Balance Volume indicator presently offers a neutral signal.
- Short term: Prices are moving. (down). By the way, prices are vulnerable to a correction towards 20.76.
- The RSI is currently at 44.24% which indicates that the stock is trading in the bearish territory.
- The +DI line is below the -DI line and the ADX is below 20 and trending downward.
- Fresh exposures may be avoided for the moment. A close below $20.76 would be an early sign of weakness and a drop below $19.97 would impart weakness.
- The weak outlook would be negated on a close above $22.76. A close above this level would warrant liquidation of short positions.

Overall, the bias in prices in short-term is: Downwards.

The short-term outlook for AIG too appears positive. The stock could touch an upside target of $34 in the medium term. Existing holders could remain invested. The bias is bullish in nearest term. A close above $28.85 would impart bullishness and would help the stock move to the 30-32 band.

Stocks to watch on Wednesday Fev 24

The short term scenario for CTIC is not encouraging, but we might see some bounce up at this level. The stochastics continued to move down in the oversold zone, but there are some technical indicators showing positive divergences. If you are a short-term trader, use a stop loss at $0.648.

HEB traded slightly higher on tuesday as the stock hit a high of $0.71 on the day. This high is resistance for Wednesday’s continuation move, which could have good upside potential. I'm watching the stock very closely as this can be a good trading stock, but it will move quickly. You want to keep HEB on your screen for Wednesday’s trading. The technical daily chart shows very bullish sign as the stock is back on top of 50 day moving average recently.

ALU - The technical daily chart shows this is just the beginning of the rally for alcatel as K line is just in the mid way after it crossed on top of D line early this month. Although ALU is still weak as MACD is below 0 and the stock is below 50 day moving average, if the stock can go up a few more days it will be back to bull market.

Stocks to watch on Tuesday Fev 23

On Monday, the stock broke out from this trading range with huge volumes. I feel this is the beginning of a bigger move, which is why I'm watching AIG again on Tuesday. Resistance is $29.30, which was Monday’s high of the day. The price can head towards the 31.5-31.70 zone. If this zone is surpassed, getting to 39.5 would be a possibility. Add to your position once there is a close above 29.30. The technical daily chart show a continuation of the uptrend with MACD and RSI in the Bullish areas.

DRYS has been sitting in a channel the past month. The stock looks to have built a base and wants to make an upside move. If DRYS can break through $5.82, we should see strong volume drive the stock higher. You need to watch DRYS closely because it could break resistance.

Stocks to watch on Monday Fev 22

LVLT - Shares of Level 3 Communications rose 10% to $1.58 per share. The technical chart shows the stock is in a strong bull market both 50 day and 200 day moving average rising and MACD above signal. This is a good stock to own for the long term. Keep LVLT on your radar for Monday.

ADCT seems to have broken out of a major horizontal resistance that targets a move to 7.06 in the stock. The technical indicator KD shows the stock is still in a rally.

AIB - On the technical daily chart, we can see a few technical signals suggesting that a swing higher may be in the cards in the short term. First, the stock is currently testing a support area which held back in the middle of December. At the same time, we see a bullish divergence signal as AIB makes lower "lows" in price. Coincidentally, we saw bullish divergence the last time the stock test this level as well. If the stock can close above the 13-day Moving Average, currently at 3.24, it might just be able to arrest its decline and attempt a recovery. If this does happen, there isn’t much in the form of resistance until the 4-area, which might serve as a target for any bullish move.

Trade Idea for Friday - Level 3 Communications

LVLT broke out of a descending channel with huge volume and a solid 10% single day rally. The stock closed at $1.45, which was the high for the day. I think this could be the spark of a new bull trend in the making. I'm watching for a follow through move on Friday. The technical daily chart shows the stock is in a rally as K line is rising on top of D line as the price is back above 50 day moving average. Moreover MACD shows the stock is still in bull market as MACD and signal line are above 0.

Stocks to watch on Thursday Fev 18

SNPS reached again the $22.17 mark. This level is proving to be a strong resistance zone. A strong trend would not be in place unless the stock closes above this level. Long-term investors who have entered at lower levels may take partial profits and have a stop-loss at 21.71 for the rest.

GT closed higher today. The near-term outlook is bullish and a close above $14.09 would confirm this view. On the contrary, a close below $13.35 would have bearish implications and would push the stock to the 13-13.24 range. Hold with a stop-loss at 13.35. Technical indicators remain slightly bullish as MACD momentum drifts higher near recent highs in positive territory, MACD histograms drift higher the 0 level and RSI moves up. Let's keep an eye on it.

Stocks to watch on Wednesday Fev 17

Starting with SIRI, on the daily charts, the present uptrend is getting confirmed as the days go on. Right now I'm in a Long trade that I entered around 0.851. The major trend is still bullish as we can see on the chart above.The bias is Bullish in nearest term. Immediate support is remains at 0.90 followed by 0.861. Initial resistance at 0.98. Break above that area could trigger further bullish momentum towards $1. CCI in overbought area and heading down on daily chart suggesting a potential downside pressure.

AMAT was one of the winners on Tuesday, as the stock closed up $.48 on the day. The stock is back near the top of its short-term trading channel, and could make a move on Wednesday. Resistance is $13,10, which is the high of this channel. Some indicators are improving but it needs to breakout above the resistance to confirm the change in trend.

ADCT - After making a big move the past few days, the stock is now consolidating. ADCT wants to move higher and this could happen soon. I'm buyer of ADCT once it breaks $6.68. There is a chance ADCT will consolidate for another day or so, but watch it closely on wednesday in case it breaks early.
