Stocks to Watch for June 27, 2013

Yelp Inc (NYSE:YELP) Strong Breakout on heavy volume. Buyable on a pullback to the pivot. The technical chart shows a continuation of the trend with MACD and RSI in the Bullish areas. There is a good chance the stock will continue to move up.

Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF) Stalking as a potential swing long above 9.61 MACD crossed up signaling a buy. Lets see if tomorrow confirms the signal

Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is still consoladating within a symmetrical triangle. Eventually this pattern will be resolved Friday after the earnings report. However, all technical indicators appear to be setting up for a nice bullish move. The RSI crossed above 50 and +DI crossed above -DI indicating renewed buying pressure. MACD is about to cross the zero line, signifying even more upside being possible. The volume also was above average today and I'm hoping we will see a continuation tomorrow. Today’s high was $15, which is resistance for the follow through move. Note earnings 06/28

Splunk Inc (NASDAQ:SPLK) is setting up nicely for a breakout, but I'd like to see a move above 47,21 on good volume before getting involved.

Citi Trends, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTRN) On watchlist no trigger yet. Long above $14.36. The stock has very strong support at 13.50

Wells Fargo & Co (NYSE:WFC) has become increasingly bullish and is currently consolidating in an attractive pattern. A move past $41.69 would be a strong indicator of a further uptrend in the stock.

Stocks To Watch For November 21, 2012

GameStop Corp. (NYSE:GME) A big winner over the past few months but it looks like GME wants to continue higher as it breaks to new highs with an increase in volume over the past few days. Support at $25.

Host Hotels and Resorts Inc (NYSE:HST) After getting punished lower in the past two months, the stock has been stabilizing and starting to build optimism. 14.50 is pretty much the pivot here. If that breaks, we could see 15 quickly.

Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF) Price broke a downtrenline on the daily chart and closed above its 200-DMA on volume uptrend. Looks like more upside on the way.

Not a fan of China stocks, but Cleantech Solutions International Inc (NASDAQ:CLNT) could be setting up for a run to $5. Some serious upside volume coming into CLNT over the last few days. Short-term $4 should act as support from here but a drop back to the low $3.45’s is still a risk in this volatile stock, so tight stops should be used for any long trades.

Tellabs, Inc. (NASDAQ:TLAB) saw its shares surged almost 2.25% to $2.78 per share today after the company said in a statement it would actively repurchase as much as $224.6 million worth of its stock ( 22.5% float ) to win back shareholders’ favor. From a technical standpoint the stock broke the down trendline and it poised to retest the 2.9 level. A close above this level will be bullish. Beyond that, chart shows a bullish MACD crossover  which indicate we have some more room to the upside.

Momentum Stocks to Watch for Week of September 10, 2012

Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF) broke out of a one-month consolidation pattern above $7.17 on really good volume. Look for follow-through on Monday with increasing volume to confirm Friday's move.

Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA) broke through that critical $9 level on Friday and looks to be heading higher.  Additionally, there is a "buy" signal indicated from MACD. The next resistance level to watch is at 9.24 (200-SMA). Above this level could test 9.94 next.

DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ:DRYS) looks set to retest key daily chart resistance at 2.42. A breakout above this level will not come easily but a successful move will place 2.58 as the next level to watch. From the technical analysis perspective, the outlook for DryShips is relatively bullish in the short-term which can be further confirming in RSI and ADX charts. +DMI crossing above the –DMI suggesting a buy signal while RSI crossing back above 50 signals. The short term trend is to the upside targeting 2.58

InterDigital, Inc.(NASDAQ:IDCC) had a very nice move this week after breaking out of a small bull flag. Volume continues to be higher than average on this move up, which is very positive.  The most interesting for this stock is in the On-Balance-Volume chart, which gave a buy signal in late June. This is the longest upward that the stock has seen in sometime. InterDigital is my favorite stock in this market right now.

Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC) looks really strong here, breaking out of strong resistance range on good volume and taking out the highs of May and August. I really like this for a swing trade up to last March highs.

Yesterday, Alpha Natural Resources, Inc.(NYSE:ANR) has formed a Strong Bullish Candle on the daily charts closing just under the key resistance level at 6.96. Looking at technical chart we have now macd’s heading up and the RSI above the 50 line. It has to break 6.96 and possibly 7 before the movement is a confirmed one.

Stock Picks and Trade Ideas for Thursday - RF, C , WFC, NVDA

Chart courtesy of stockcharts ( click to enlarge )

RF - The stock is recovering from last weeks’ equity sell-off. The stock is around $11.67, which is below its 200 day moving average but above the 50 day moving average. Technically, the stock doesn’t look bad. Crossing above the $12 level could see a resumption of the bull rally and the stock could rise to touch the $14-$14.50 levels.

Chart courtesy of stockcharts ( click to enlarge )

NVDA - The stock is in a bearish phase and I have to say that the recent downtrend does not appear be complete. Reasonable expectations suggest to me that we might see stock drops to near its 52 week low at $6.28 if this uncertainty in the markets persist for some time. Technicaly, NVDA is still in very weak market as 50 day moving average is still declining and MACD is still below 0. Any move below $6.90 will drag the stock towards $6.28.

Chart courtesy of stockcharts ( click to enlarge )

WFC -The stock has moved above 200-day moving average and is moving toward near-term resistance near 36. In order to avoid being caught in a false breakout situation, enter your trade with a stop order at least $32.10 above the breakout level.

Chart courtesy of stockcharts ( click to enlarge )

C - Despite the recent bounce back, the price action has failed to cross above the short-term resistance line at $18.17 ( 50 day moving average ). The stock could fall up to $16.

Stock Picks and Trade Ideas for Friday - TRN, YHOO, RF

Chart courtesy of stockcharts ( click to enlarge )

RF - Looking at the daily technical chart the long term trend is still weak as the stock is still below 200 day moving average with the moving average keeps falling. However the stock may be in a rally for the short term as K line has crossed on top over D line. Investors can hold the stock with a stop at $10.44 ( 50-day moving average ). If this level holds, the stock can move up to $14.

Chart courtesy of stockcharts ( click to enlarge )

YHOO - The stock plunged to a new year low of $15.54 in Thursday's trading session. The technical chart shows weakness as the stock has dropped below the key support level of $17.25 on Monday and MACD has dropped below 0. It may be better to stay away from the stock for now.

Chart courtesy of stockcharts ( click to enlarge )

TRN - All supports broken, the stock is in full bear mode. The huge sell off in Trinity has surprised all, it is expected to bounce back to 20 this week, if sustained , can see $21.79 in short term. The long term trend is still weak as the stock has been trading below 50 day and 200 day MA with 50 day MA now going downward showing bearish signal. It is better to stay at the sideline and see how the stock react for the next few days.
