Regional Banks to Watch on Thursday April 07
City National Corp. (CYN) closed the day very strong, trading 2x normal daily volume and closing near highs. The way the stock closed, leads me to believe there is a buyer in the stock. CYN confirmed today the reversal when it broke up above the $58.48 level. According to the technical chart KD and MACD have already generated a buy signal. In addition , the stock is now trading above 50 day and 200 day moving average, also a bullish sign. This momentum could push this stock much higher from here, so keep it on the radar.
SVB Financial Group (NASDAQ:SIVB) has been on fire the past few days and today made a new 52-week high of $58.41. I am keeping the stock on the list for the continuation move. The technical chart shows a continuation of the trend with MACD and RSI in the Bullish areas. Watch the stock closely tomorrow and once it breaks $58.41, get ready to jump in and buy the stock with a stop-loss at $56.75.
I am still watching shares of Banner Corporation (NASDAQ:BANR) due to the recent price action, volume, and momentum. Over the last six months, shares held by insiders increased by 759,574 a 22.9% change in insider ownership. Insiders seem to think their company offer good value at current levels. From the technical analysis perspective, the outlook for Banner is relatively bullish. MFI and OBV are both displaying visible uptrends, indicating accumulation of shares in the market. The only weak spot in the chart is MACD where both MACD and signal line are slightly below 0. The next resistance level for Banner Corporation is now located at $2.43 and then $2.53. A close above $2.53 would be very bullish ! Take a look at the chart above to get an idea about what the technicals are saying, which look good in my opinion... This stock can pop big time on any positive news.
