Five momentum stocks to keep an eye on

The technical chart of (NYSE:EK) has become increasingly bullish and is currently consolidating in an attractive pattern. The stock is forming a symmetrical triangle with support at $4.70. From the chart above, we can see that the stock is in a short-term bull market with 13 day moving average on top over 50 day moving average and MACD above signal line. I am expecting a breakout at $4.87. A move past this level would be a strong indicator of a further uptrend in the stock.

Crocs, Inc. (NASDAQ:CROX) is in a breakout mode and we could see another up move before the stock pulls back and consolidates. The stock hit high of $17.89 today, and I will be buying once it trades above this price. So keep a close eye on it Friday.

DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ:DRYS) is currently doing a return move to re-test the resistance turned support at $5. It’s a wait-and-see. If price bounces from support, this would be a good time to buy.

Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ:RMBS) is forming a symmetrical triangle. Breakout above 20.75 needs to have a good volume. Target price is 23.48. This week, the stock price finally crossed the 50 day moving average, indicating a buy. From a technical perspective, a buy is signalled when the stock’s closing price crosses above the moving average from below after a down-trend. As long as the stock price is above the MA the trend is defined as bullish. RMBS can be a very good trading stock, so watch it closely.

Atmel Corporation (NASDAQ:ATML) broke out today, after it has been consolidating the past few trading days. The stock moved up on heavy volume and should have a continuation move on Friday. If ATML can break through today's high of $10.98, I am a buyer of the stock.
