Stock Picks for Thursday August 12

JDSU - The stock might face a period of sideways action while it consolidates the gains booked in the last sessions. JDSU will face short to medium term resistance at $11.58. Once this level is crossed with good volumes, the stock can go to $12.90.

MOT is simply telling me that this is a nice healthy pullback after a big run. The trend should resume back up in the very near future. The technical chart is also showing declining volume but stock has a Bullish outlook. I could be wrong, but I did not find a reason for the drop in shares as it did. It was likely a consequence of the negative market environment.

UAUA's stock broke down below its 50-day moving average (DMA) for the first time since June. From the technical chart, both MACD and KD show bearish sign. I do not recommend a position at the moment, because the stock could fall up to $20.

THQI - Looking at the technical chart we can see the stock is in a bearish phase and I have to say that the recent downtrend does not appear be complete. The stock dropped to a new 52-week low in final trading Wednesday. Shares ended the day down $0.21, or 5.16 percent, to close at $3.86 on heavy trading. The technical indicators remained bearish at Wednesday’s close. MACD made a negative crossover and the histograms are moving down into negative territory. In the short term, I see no reason to buy the stock. Only a close above $4.22 would impart positive momentum.
