Stock Market Investing Ideas for next week

Shares of THQ Inc surged on Thursday as the company's turnaround plan gained favor with investors after strong earnings report. For the third quarter ending Dec. 31, the company reported net income of $542 million, or $0.01 per diluted share, on revenues of $356.7 million. That is a marked improvement over the same period in 2008 when the company reported a net loss of $191.8 million, or $2.86 per diluted share, on revenues of $357.3 million. Based on the current financial report and forecast, many analysts believe the shares could potentially double in the current year as their turnaround cements believability. THQI is starting to take off. The technical chart shows very bullish sign as the stock is back on top of 50 day moving average. The bias is now bullish in nearest term but remains neutral in medium term. All indicators are bullish and point to more upside. For now, expect a run up to next resistance area around $5.85. If the stock is able to cross it and sustain above it, then it might go to $7.61.

AMAT - It looks like the buyers are finally aware of the buying opportunity at this level after the big drop occured early this month. The technical chart shows this is just the beginning of the rally as K line has just crossed on top over D line. The stock is extremely oversold at this point that the conditions are almost perfect for another large scale counter trend rally to develop, so don't be caught if you see this one begin. PWER - After receiving good news, PWER was one of the top trading stocks on the day. The stock closed up $4.58 on 6x normal daily volume. The stock hit a high of $3.93 on Friday, which is resistance for the continuation move on Monday. Looking at the daily chart, the stock has strong short-term resistance at $4. Long-term investors can hold Power-One with a stop at $3.
