Bullish set-ups to watch next week

Sarepta Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:SRPT) is currently showing a bullish ascending triangle pattern putting pressure on the 41 level. If it breaks out of the ascending triangle, target price is around 50. Triangles tend to be continuation patterns and in this particular case, the break out is likely to be in the direction in which the stock was headed before entering the triangle. From a technical standpoint, indicators are sending bullish signals. The MACD is above the signal line and the RSI & Slow stochastic are both rising above their 50% levels. Additionally, the stock price is above all major EMAs. Watch for a close above 41. It could mean further upside for the stock. On the down side, the 50-day EMA should provide support.

Health Management Associates Inc (NYSE:HMA) is flagging in the 15-16 area after a breakout from the 14 level in the last month. Watch for a break of 16.41 to continue the uptrend.

Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ:CSIQ) has been flagging bullishly just above 12. A break above 12.19 could move the stock to 13.34 and then 14.29 next.

SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ:SPWR) broke out last week on solid volume. Technically, the stock is in a short-term Bull Market with share price above 9, 13, 20, 50 and 200 daily exp moving averages. Let's see if Monday the stock will confirm the breakout. Short-term investors can buy with a stop at $23.76 and long-term investors can hold with a stop at $18.37. Let's keep an eye on it as i think momentum will pick up.

Yingli Green Energy Hold. Co. Ltd. (ADR) (NYSE:YGE) had a significant bullish momentum on Friday. The major reistance has been violated to the upside, confirms the bullish continuation targeting 4 in nearest term. Upside volume is returning to the stock. Selling volume has been light while accumulation days have been heavy. So, keep your eyes on YGE and watch it trade next week !

LDK Solar Co., Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:LDK) The technical daily chart indicates that stock seems to be stabilizing. The volume has been quite modest, however the stochastics are oversold which could power the rally that I think is coming. The stock will now be facing some resistance located between $1.43 - $1.50. A close above 1.61 would be very bullish. Stop 1.28

JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE:JKS) shares finally broke out above their previous high in May. The big picture has drastically changed now, the medium term trend remains bullish and in shorter time frames the stock has just breached the horizontal resistance line confirming a breakout. As long as the stock trades above $10 I will be looking for long opportunities.

Hot Solar Stocks To Watch

JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE:JKS) had a strong bounce off its ascending 50 day moving average today, as did most of the stocks in its sector. JKS looks like it wants to make a move. If the stock can break today's high, we should see a strong upside move. You want to watch JKS closely on Friday.

First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLR) After bottoming out in the December 2011 trough at around 30, the stock has been on a short-term uptrend. As long as it trades above its significant support level at 39.70 (50-dma), its short-term trend remains up.

ReneSola Ltd. (NYSE:SOL) - Over the last month, the stock has been consolidating and it looks ready to take the next leg up. Looking at the technical chart we can see that the volume has been drying up on the sell side. In the short-term, the stock can rally and encounter resistance at 2.65. Medium-term trend will turn positive on a strong daily close above this level. This can lift the stock higher to 3.02, 3.33 and then to 3.77.

Trina Solar Limited (NYSE:TSL) looking like forming support on its 50-day MA on sustained volume. I would be comfortable getting long here.

LDK Solar Co., Ltd (NYSE:LDK) has recovered nicely and can potentially set-up very well for a swing-trade if the stock breaks through the resistance level at $5.69. There could be good upside in this trade, so watch LDK closely on Friday.

Trina Solar Limited (ADR) (NYSE:TSL) - I like that the stock finished strong on Monday and I expect to see a continuation move tomorrow. Resistance is $7.26, which reflects its 50-day MA. Once the stock breaks resistance, I expect to see the buyer push the stock higher. The technical indicators are reversing up and are advocating for a technical rebound.

LDK Solar Co., Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:LDK) faces resistance at the 3.43-3.46 range. A close above 3.46 would impart positive momentum. The stock is likely to move to the 4.32-4.50 range on the break past the resistance zone. I will watch the stock closely the next few days, watching for this move to occur. LDK will move quickly and could be too volatile for some traders. The technical indicators are still in favor of the short-term uptrend continuation.

Looking at the technical chart of First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLR) , there are several indications I see which suggest a near-term bottom, including large positive divergences on MACD in daily. If the potential buy signal confirms itself we will be looking for a move to the resistance area at $50-51, at the very least. Until that happens, traders will want to be on high-alert to the possibility of a bullish reversal. Keep FSLR on your screen for Tuesday’s trading session.

Top Trade Ideas for the Week of March 21

The Technical daily chart shows an exhaustion move, where the price had penetrated the $12.70 level confluence with 50-day moving average, but failed to hold above it. The trend direction in short term is now bearish. The medium-term trend outlook for the stock is neutral. It is moving sideways in a range between $12.82 and $10.68 over the last six months. Long-term investors can hold the stock with a stop at $10.68.

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) -As you can see from the chart above, the stock has been trading within a rising channel since July 2010. The stock ends the week near the top of its rising channel Would anticipate a correction to at least $19.41. A close below $19.95 would signal a trend change.

Shares of Parker Drilling Company (NYSE:PKD) ran into some profit taking on Friday after Thursday's big rally. The short-term outlook for the stock is Bullish and move up to $5.85 is possible in the near-term. My first target is $5.89. My second, more aggressive target is $6.54 with a time frame of several weeks. Near-term support for Parker Drilling Company is present at $5.42. Subsequent supports for the stock are present at $5 and then $4.95. Technical indicators are supporting the bulls. EMAs are moving up. MACD is positive and above the signal line. You need to put this stock on your watchlist next week and pay special attention to the price and the volume action.

There is no change from my previous updates on Banner Corporation (NASDAQ:BANR). The stock looks poised to move higher. The technical daily chart shows possibility of new rally as the stock bounced up after dropping back to 50 day moving average. In addition, the 50 day moving average has crossed on top over 200 day moving average early this month to form the Golden Cross. Typically, when a Golden Cross is formed the stock will be heading into a strong bull market. At the same time, the daily stochastics is reaching the oversold zone. These technical factors suggest taking a long position.

Top Solar Stocks to Watch this week

Good afternoon everyone! Solar stocks have calm down a bit today after a huge sell-off since the beginning of the month. Now, with the stocks testing previous lows, this may be a good time to make some technical analysis. First, let's start with the chart of Trina Solar Limited (NYSE:TSL). On the daily chart, we can see a few technical signals suggesting that a swing higher may be in the cards in the short term. First, the stock bounced off recent major support on strong volume with the stock breaking above the short-term downtrend line. At the same time, the Stochastic Oscillator is registering a strong bullish signal as the %K has crossed above the %D. Coincidentally, RSI turned up again from the middle of a downward move. The only problem is MACD, because it remains below its falling signal line. The stock has a huge resistance at $26.98, which is its 50 day EMA. If the stock can break through resistance on above-average volume, we could see the stock test $28 and potentially test $28.55-$29.66. Pull it up on your trading screen and take a look for yourself.

The overall outlook remains negative for Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ:CSIQ), as long as it stays below $11.02. Technical indicators are bearish as MACD momentum and histograms trend lower at new lows in negative territory and RSI holds near recent lows in bearish territory. A break above $11.02 resistance will negate this bearish interpretation.

LDK Solar Co., Ltd. (NYSE:LDK) has been trading between $10 and $15 in the past 4 months, closing in today's trading session at $11.58, up 94 cents or 8.83%, with a volume of 13 million shares. Technically, the daily chart of LDK Solar is now much improved after today’s action. The RSI has reversed again the course and stock finally closed above its 5-day moving average again, which is usually a short-term Bullish signal. I would look for a move up to $12.46 resistance soon. If it passes that, then we have room to run to next resistance at $13.52. Despiting the current downturn, solar sector is seen as a growth industry for the long haul, due to the increasing demand.

Stock picks for Tuesday January 25

I see little resistance for KB Home (NYSE:KBH) above $15.71 and a move this week through this level will be an indicator of a possible breakout which should drive the price to the $18 range. Investors looking for a quick near-term profit should look to trade KBH at these levels. Long-term investors can hold the stock as long as it trades above $14.20 while maintaining stop-loss at this level. Strong close above $15.85 will take the stock higher to $17.32 or $20 in the long-term. Technical indicators are supporting the bulls. EMAs are moving up and RSI is moving up above its 50% level.

LDK Solar Co., Ltd. (NYSE:LDK) is in a new bull-market. Investors with medium-term horizon can hold the stock with stop-loss at $12.28 and long-term investors can hold with deeper stop at $10.02. Target above $15 is $16.46.

I had mentioned that failure to surpass the 200-day moving average could result in the stock vacillating in the band between $16.65 and $14.63 for few more weeks. I stay with the view that long-term investors can hold the stock as long as it trades above the major support area. Since the stock has strong long-term support in the band between $15 and $14.65, investors can buy the stock close to $15 with stop at $14.63. Looking at the technical chart above we can see a bullish signal in short-term, the RSI reversed from going down to going up just at the weak level of 33. Speaks to a bottom being put in. NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) was one of the few decent winners on Monday, as the stock closed up $2.53 on the day. NVDA broke out today on higher volume ( 2x normal daily volume ) above a major resistance point. Today’s high was $25.05, which is resistance for the follow through move. If the stock can break through this level, expect to see heavy volume drive the stock higher.

Solarfun Power Holdings Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ:SOLF) - The violent reversal from its 200-day moving average leads the way to a retest of $8.27 support. If the stock can hold above this area we could assist to a rebound for a retest of today's highs and a possible breakout to the upside.

LDK Solar Co., Ltd. (NYSE:LDK), retested the 50-day mving average and failed to close over that level. We should see a potential upside if the stock manages to close over the 50-day mving average. Support continues to be located at $10.74 and any close below that level could signal further declines.

GT Solar International, Inc. (NASDAQ:SOLR) has had a nice run over the past days. At this stage, we can see that SOLR is now testing its line resistance at $8.27. A break of this resistance level could see the stock testing its next horizontal resistance line located at $8.78. Technical indicators are bullish as MACD momentum and histograms trend higher and RSI is above 50 level.

Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) had a huge breakout day on Tuesday and closed above its 200-day moving average. The breakout was on heavy volume. The next key resistance levels are located at $34.94 and $36.14. There looks to be good upside potential, so watch the stock very closely on Wednesday. Shareholders may remain invested with a stop- loss at $33.28.

Stock Picks for Wednesday, October 20

JDS Uniphase Corporation (NASDAQ:JDSU) broke down its support today on increased volume and selling pressure making this stock appear that it could easily be sent down to its support around $10. Only the break of the prior support now resistance confirmed by a daily closing will support higher levels. The indicators of the daily chart are still negative suggesting further possible pressure, only a strong closing again above the top of today could change this scenario.

LDK Solar Co., Ltd. (NYSE:LDK) - The near-term outlook is bearish and the stock could drop to the $10.44-10 range. Bulls could remain invested with a stop loss at $9.62. This is a crucial level. Breakdown will result in a greater fall.

ReneSola Ltd. (NYSE:SOL) - Hold with a stop-loss at $11.89. If stock breaks this level then the stock can head to $11.52 and if this level is breached then the level of $11 is visible. Fresh exposures may be avoided, as the short-term outlook is bearish. A close below $11 would impart further weakness and a subsequent test of $10-10.32 is not ruled out. The trend would turn positive only a close above $13.34. Long positions may be considered on a daily close above this level.

Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ:RMBS) - The decline over the last few days occurred on lower volume and the stock is firming around 19.38. Technically, the stock still in downtrend in short term but at this level is showing some resistance to move down. The current price is above the 50-day moving average of 19.31. Sustained move above the average could signal development of an new uptrend. RMBS looks like it is gonna squeeze some shorts to me. Let's keep an eye on it.

Hot Solar stocks to watch tomorrow

The technical daily chart of ENER is showing that the stock is on a bounce back rally after it lost more than 50% of its value since April. RSI is turning up and is now at 50 levels. The MACD indicator is rising also indicating a buy, and KD line shows the stock is on the positive swing. The On Balance Volume "OBV" is beginning to turn around which suggests the stock is no longer being sold off. The growth in the solar sector is now surging again like a volcano. The stock needs to break today’s high of $4.91 to expect a strong rally at this point.

YGE - The upward momentum seems to be slowing down as the stock hit critical resistance level. The stock has tried to breakout the past three sessions, but failed. Resistance for the breakout move is $12.64. The stock wants to breakout, so keep it on your radar.

The short-term uptrend is intact. The bias is bullish in nearest term especially if price able to move consistently above 6.26 targeting 6.95/7 region. Immediate support is at 5.87. Break below that area would lead us into neutral zone as direction is unclear testing 5.75/5.50 support area.

CSIQ broke out today on heavy volume. If this chart does what is supposed to do, the stock will be going higher in the days to come. From a technical perspective, the stock is now in a new uptrend with share price above 20 and 50-daily moving averages. Let's see if tomorrow the stock will confirm the breakout. Short-term investors can buy with a stop at $11.89 and long-term investors can hold with a stop at $9. Let's keep an eye on her as i think momentum will pick up.

Stocks to watch next week - Motorola , Cell Therapeutics, LDK Solar Co. and Google

LDK has come down a bit here in recent days. It appears that the correction may be close to an end since it is approaching of its main support at $7.19. This may be a good spot to get in, with a stop under the recent lows if the timing is wrong. If the weakness continues and the stock breaks the support at $7.19, there will be a good chance that the stock will test the $6.68 support.

GOOG traded lower on Friday, but I want to watch the stock again on Monday. The stock is strong and getting stronger every day it seems. If it can close above $587.06, then expect more upside. If this happens, Google is a good play. The daily chart shows the stock is on a strong bull market as the stock is trading above 50 day and 200 day moving with both moving average pointing upwards. I think the stock should continue to go up.

CTIC - As long as the stock holds above the $1.055 support level the intermediate-term picture should remain positive. Fresh exposures may be considered on a move past $1.127, with a stop-loss at $1.05.

MOT - It looks like the buyers are finally aware of the buying opportunity at this level after the big drop occured early this month. The technical chart shows this is just the beginning of the rally as K line has just crossed on top over D line. MOT is extremely oversold at this point that the conditions are almost perfect for another large scale counter trend rally to develop, so don't be caught if you see this one begin. Stay tuned on MOT.

Solar stocks to watch tomorrow - JA Solar and LDK Solar

LDK breaks above the key resistance zone at 9.08 ( MA 13 ), signifying that a new short term uptrend is in place. Further rise is expected to 10.10 zone in next several days. Indicators are also showing signs of recovery. Near term support is now located at 8.2, as long as this level holds, I'd expect the uptrend to continue. Long-term investors may hold with a stop at 8.20.

JASO has a strong resistance at 3.21 ( MA 50 ) while short-term support exists at 2.80. My focus remains on the bullish reversal scenario showed by the last big white candle. This is usually considered bullish, as prices closed significantly higher than they opened. A break to the upside could trigger potential bullish momentum targeting 4.05 area. Stop-loss for long positions may be placed at 2.80.

Hot stocks for Friday - Ciena, Rambus and LDK Solar

Greetings everybody! LDK strong enough to say...........and the Bulls are back! We now have further confirmation of the upward move. The stock has broken out of its major resistance line. Conservative target price is 8.47, with a possible of a bigger target price at 10.43. The technical indicators are looking better for the stock. Looks like further upward move for next week.

I alerted RMBS as a day trading opportunity. This stock is showing signs of an upcoming breakout as price action and volume and making some bull signals here. Keep an eye on Rambus for a possible breakout over 10.79.

CIEN - Today, the stock broke out a short term consolidation pattern on huge volume of over 5 Million shares, indicating some bullish behavior and we could possibly see some continued upside movement. The trend since last week was "buy on dips" and today's move just confirms this fact. The technical chart above shows the stock has just entered into a short-term strong bull market as 20 day moving average has just crossed on top over 50 day moving average. In addition both MACD and KD show buy signal as MACD is above signal line and K line is on top of D line. $9.10 will act as resistance point but if breaks through there could likely be a move of 15%.

Solar Stocks to Watch on Friday - LDK Solar, China Sunergy and Canadian Solar

CSIQ is another strongly trending stock that is finding resistance in the 50 day MA area at $4.64 . If the nasdaq makes a run, the stock should breakout this resistance. At these levels I prefer wait for the breakout confirmation to see if this movement will continue. Shareholders may remain invested with a stop-loss at $4.

CSUN successfully broke the resistance at 1.66 confirming a reversal from the previous downward trend. Target price for the pattern is at $2.50. The breakout also moved past the 20 day moving average. From the technical chart KD line shows positive signals as K line is rising on top over D line, and RSI continue moving up. OBV is beginning to turn around which suggests the stock is no longer being sold off. Stock as a major resistance at $2.46. I suspect the stock may continue to appreciate over the coming weeks.

LDK - The recent increase in trading volume and rising OBV suggests buyers are accumulating stock. A breakout above $5 would constitute a technical entry for the short term trader looking for a quick trade.
