Some stocks to watch for Thursdays session

Nektar Therapeutics (NASDAQ:NKTR) - Great action today. Breaks above 200-day Ma. Momentum picking up with MACD climbing and ADX rising. Volume 2x above average. If we see follow-through tomorrow it might run hard.

Novatel Wireless Inc (NASDAQ:NVTL) had a good move today. The stock broke out the small falling wedge pattern to the upside on increased volume and closed at the highs of the day. This is a trend reversal pattern suggesting a halt in the bearish trend. The stock could touch an upside target of $3.30 in the short term. The technical daily chart shows the stock is now back to uptrend and with %K line above %D line we may see more upside. Let’s see whether the stock can gather enough momentum to break through 3.01 (50-day MA). If the Bulls are able to push through this level, there will be another rally towards 3.30. NVTL will move quickly, so watch the stock closely on Thursday.

OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:OVTI) broke the resistance today on expanding volume. This momentum could push this stock much higher from here. The stock might test $15.5 level in the short term if it is able to sustain above $14.

Momentum stocks to watch tomorrow

Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL) - The stock embarked on another leg of the strong bull rally that took it to a new high of $458.24 today on rising volumes. All three EMA's are rising and the stock is well above the 3 moving averages. At this point, the technical indicators are supporting the bullishness. The MACD is moving up in the positive zone and is above the signal line, however the slow stochastic has moved up into the overbought zone. A break above $459 could trigger further upside momentum testing $475.

Shares of Zagg Inc (NASDAQ:ZAGG) today broke out of a bullish consolidation pattern that has been a pause in its steep, more than 20% up move in January. A break of 10.12 should lead to a target zone of 11-11.58.

Sky mobi Ltd (NASDAQ:MOBI) - The stock pulled back on low volume today, holding support at the 50-day MA (3.60). Could move again soon. The bullish scenario in short-term still intact so we must see this bearish momentum just as a correctional movement. My model remains mixed with upside bias. MOBI can be a great trading stock, but you have to watch it closely.

Shares of United States Steel Corporation (NYSE:X) were on fire today after the company released its financial report. At this level, we should see the stock might retest its 200-day MA resistance level located at $33.28. The support level is adjusted to $28.4.

SmallCap Stocks to Keep an Eye on Tomorrow

A123 Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:AONE) is making a possible bullish inverted head and shoulder pattern. If the stock price breaks out of the neckline, target level is around $3.5. RSI Indicator still in Bullish territory and MACD above 0. CMF is also moving up always a very good. My model is mixed with upside bias. Look for it to break the trendline soon and make a nice move.

Sky mobi Ltd (NASDAQ:MOBI) has just started moving higher and established a short term up-trend. Momentum indicators are slightly bullish now with RSI inching away above the middle level. The strongest sign of a bullish momentum is the MACD indicator which is currently above the "0" line. Watching for $4.19 breakout. This momentum could push this stock much higher from here, so keep the stock on your radar for Tuesday’s trading day, as there is good upside potential in this move.

We are on the verge of a possible breakout in the shares of ReneSola Ltd. (NYSE:SOL) A move oabove $2.65 could spark a nice short-squeeze. The technical chart above shows very bullish sign as the stock is on top of 20-day moving average with 20-day MA also on top of 50 day MA recently. In addition, %K line is still above %D line and MACD is above 0.

Solar Stocks to watch in the week ahead

In the watchlist posted on Thursday, I had posted the chart of JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE:JKS) and commented "The volume picked up today and it may be starting a rally. The daily chart shows a doji candle after a few down days, which is sometimes a reversal signal." Well, the following technical chart above shows exactly what happened yesterday. Looking forward, JKS appears a good buy in near term. The chart shows a stock that is starting to breakout and I would look to the $10 level as the next important point of resistance. The 200-day MA is currently $14.82 a share. A bullish volume pattern has been also formed in the last two sessions. In additon, the MACD is moving upwards in positive zone, revealing increasing bullish momentum and stochastics generated a buy signal. If you haven't added JKS to your watchlist, now is the time.

Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ:CSIQ) has broke to the upside from its recent brief consolidation and the technical chart is bullish. Stock on Thursday closed above its 100 days MA of 3.34 with high volume and yesterday's close confirmed the breakout. Technical indicators are supporting the bulls.

Trina Solar Limited (NYSE:TSL) moved up well on Friday and volume increased. The stock looks good for more gains next week. From a technical standpoint there is a near term to midterm opportunity for shares of TSL to rebound to higher levels. The chart above shows the momentum indicators have turned up and the RSI is on the rise.

Nice spike up on strong volume. Could play First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLR) here for a move above $51. MACD is positive and above the signal line. RSI is moving up and above its 50% level.

InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC) - Put on your watchlist. Insiders bought huge volume of shares on Thursday.

Hemispherx BioPharma, Inc (NYSEAMEX:HEB) - The rally continued on Friday as buyers drove the price up 9 cents, or 29 percent, to close at $.41

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) has not confirmed a buy signal yet but looks like it coud be getting very close when it clears its 50-day MA. The technical indicator OBV still showing positive divergences and moving north even as the stock price falls meaning the selling strength is very weak. So a strong bounce is likely.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTIC) Flagging here. Could be setting up for a run to $1.50.

Equinix Inc (NASDAQ:EQIX) remains one of the hottest stocks on the market. Accompanied with good volumes, the stock marked an all-time high in the last trading session. The daily momentum indicator shows overbought levels and I believe that a near-term correction is likely to happen. The positive view would be negated if the share price closes below 115.26 ( 9-day MA).

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) - The new bullish trend on my technical daily chart looks good. Key resistance is located at 195.94, a break above this level will confirm the bullish trend, and the following uptrend will take price up to 202 zone. Momentum picking up with MACD climbing and ADX rising. CCI heading up towards 100 line on daily char and the Relative Strength Index is also moving higher, which is a sign of growing strength in the stock.

Oclaro, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCLR) has been on fire the past few weeks and it doesn’t look like the trend will change soon. The stock broke a key resistance today, which should be the start of another upside move. I'm watching the stock again on Thursday and I will be a buyer once it breaks through Wednesday’s high of $4.57. There looks to be good upside in this move, so keep a close eye on OCLR for Thursday’s trading day.

Dendreon Corporation (NASDAQ:DNDN) - The stock had an interesting day, as it broke out of the range and closed near the highs. Today’s high was $15.21, which is resistance for the continuation move on Thursday. There is a lot of upside in this trade, so keep DNDN on your screen tomorrow.

Pacific Biosciences of California (NASDAQ:PACB) - Nice break with volume 8x above average, like the ADX trend, RS trending higher. The heavy buying makes this an interesting situation and one worth watching on Thursday. From a technical standpoint, the stock is starting to show signs of acumulation with high volume on upside days and low on dowside days. PACB is a possible short squeeze play. Short Interest 2,553,900. Ratio 5.7. Strong looking chart.

Endologix, Inc. (NASDAQ:ELGX) - Could be flagging before next move up. At this stage it is definitely a wait and see if the resistance will be easily taken out by the bulls. Stay tuned.

Oclaro, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCLR) has been falling steadily for quite a while, until just recently it started to rebound. The stock is up some 75% off its lows and showing no signs of stopping. I expect its up-move to continue and reach my first price target of $5 in the forthcoming trading sessions.

Pacific Biosciences of California (NASDAQ:PACB) - On the daily time frame the volume bars over the last four weeks show the shorts have covered and as a result the OBV indicator displayed a nice spike. The stock had a very productive day today as we saw gains of over 15% and hit a high of $4, which is resistance for Wednesday’s move. If the stock can break through resistance, we should see a strong follow through move as there is a high short interest in the stock. Watch the stock closely tomorrow.

Now let’s take a look at CTIC’s activity in the light of the recent successive price increases. The stock is positively reacting to the recent events and is approaching again to key midterm resistance area, the 200-day moving average at $1.44, which typically acts as resistance, so keep an eye on it for a possible breakout. Beyond that, the technical indicators are looking better now for the stock. MACD is rising and the Chaikin Money Flow is positive showing money is flowing into Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTIC). Long-term investors may hold with a stop at $1.13.

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) is part of my portfolio and I intend to stay with it. As I said before, the stock is still in bottoming mode it looks like. A breakout from this sideways zone will give an excellent opportunity for traders to pick up long positions. However, as long as the price still in this area, the bias remains neutral in short term. NVTL could be a good short squeeze opportunity on any positive news. The OBV still showing good interest, a reversal may be on the way.

BroadVision, Inc. ( NASDAQ:BVSN) - This stock is up some 300% off its lows and showing no signs of stopping. It's overextended to the upside and signficantly overbought, so we cannot rule out a pull back but at the same time it can remain overbought until it wants to come down. Stay tuned.

Youku Inc (NYSE:YOKU) continued to show strength with another gain on decent volume. The technical chart looks very bullish with a short-term target of $23.

Texas Instruments Incorporated (NASDAQ:TXN) is trading higher after hours, as the company released strong earnings. Tomorrow, I expect the stock to gap higher. There will be very heavy volume tomorrow, and there should be good opportunity for trades. Right now, the technical chart is in a short-term bullish mode and it's really hard to tell until when it would be. The new bullish trend on my daily chart looks good. Key resistance is now located at 34.10, a break above this level will confirm the bullish trend and the following uptrend will take price up to 35 zone.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) is in a breakout mode and we could see another up move before the stock pulls back and consolidates. The stock hit high of $26.89 today, and I will be buying once it trades above this price. So keep a close eye on it Tuesday.

Big movers to watch in the week ahead

This week was another solid one for the market and a great one for Oclaro, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCLR). Many of my stock picks busted out and gave us solid profits. Here are some of the big movers to watch in the week ahead.

This week OCLR's stock gained more than 15%. with the shares closing Friday at $4.17. Today’s intraday high of 4.19 is the highest level the stock has touched in more than a two months. The chart looks really bullish in short-term as the stock is trading above 50-day moving average and the 20-day MA crossed above 50-day MA recently. In addition, both KD and MACD show bullish signal as MACD is above 0 and KD is going up. Any pullback to the moving average would be a buying opportunity.

InterDigital, Inc.(NASDAQ:IDCC) was also a winner this week. The stock has been on a downtrend since it reached 52-weeks high of $82.50 in early July 2011. However, it seems Interdigital stock maybe reversing to a uptrend as the most recent support at 41.06 is higher than the previous support level of 38.51 which show an uptrend. The chart also indicates bullish sign as the 20-day moving average has crossed above 50-day moving average with KD going up and MACD in positive territory. If the stock can keep going up and break the resistance at $49.19 this could further confirm the uptrend.

Shares of Accuray Incorporated (NASDAQ:ARAY) have been rising significant this month, going from 4.20 to $5.25 today gaining almost 25%. The recent spike in price has pushed the stock into a short-term overbought zone. The implication is that a short-term downward correction could materialise and a test of the support zone at $4.7-$4.62 appears likely.

Shares of Ciena Corporation (NASDAQ:CIEN) have been going up for 5 weeks now. The stock is now near the red line as RSI approaches the 80 level. It may still move up some cents but I expect a correction any time as I have observed that a lot of indicators have already reached overbought level. Right now it is way too risky for a long position.

Renren Inc (NYSE:RENN) has rallied from below $3.40 to above $4.50 in just two weeks, a gain of over 30%. The technical chart shows very strong upward momentum as the stock is trading above the 50 day moving average with 20-day moving average going up. At this point, I will be a buyer only once it breaks through today’s high of $4.52 for the continuation move. Stochastics are overbought but remain bullish signaling.

This stock was not a winner this week but I do not think it will stay here for long. Daily technical indicator OBV still showing support for last couple of weeks. Might be something in the works, but that is speculative until we get real news. Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) should continue to be on watch and if we break the 3.09 resistance level the stock could retest its October highs.

When I first alerted everyone this morning on twitter about FORM, I fully expected a solid run and an increase in share price, but what we got was much more than I could have even hoped for. Shares of FormFactor, Inc. (NASDAQ:FORM) closed the day gaining more than 6 percentage. Its technical chart show some bullish signals as KD is now going up and the stock breaks above the 20-day moving average. With this daily chart bull signal its very possible that we could see a continuation into next week.

Few Setups to watch on Friday Jan 20th

OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:OVTI) - Nice breakout with decent volume, positive MACD. The stock seems to have formed an ascending triangle and broke above resistance at 13.35. The target price for the triangle is 16.5. Along its way up it may encounter resistance at 14.77 and 15.5. The breakout volume is good. Look for a quick run.

Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS) - Bullish engulfing on daily chart, bought some today. If we see follow-through tomorrow, it might run hard. Technically, the MACD shows deeply oversold and is close to rising up through its moving average, which frequently leads to a rally. Plus, MACD histogram is moving up towards the zero line. A move above 12 could spark a nice short-squeeze.

Oclaro, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCLR) has proven its bullishness. It was able to move past 3.87 resistance level and continued up to as high as 4.10. MACD also followed as well with the movement of the price. Chart tells me its a buy.

FormFactor, Inc. (NASDAQ:FORM) - Put a nice reversal candle today. A strong bounce on 2x the daily avg. Key resistance is now located at $5.47, a break above this level will confirm a new bullish trend, and the following uptrend will take price up to $6 zone. The Relative Strength Index is moving higher, which is a sign of growing strength in the stock. Also the MACD is giving a positive indication.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) - Breaking out to new highs. You want to keep AAPL on your screen for Thursday’s trading.

InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC) traced out a nice setup and the upside breakout has a lot of power. Volume surged and this breakout looks like it is here to stay. Crossed its 50 day moving average and is probably heading for 49. There looks to be good upside in IDCC, so keep it on your radar the next few days. Some are speculating that Apple or Samsung might have an interest in buying this company. But there are also rumours that Google might want to buy this company. InterDigital owns an incredible number of very valuable patents, which could be a major incentive for a buyout.

The Home Depot, Inc. (NYSE:HD) has been hitting higher highs and higher lows amongst strong RSI price points. In fact, the RSI is showing multiple points of overbought periods. The stock has been on a strong bull market rally as %K line has been on top of %D line with stock trading above 50 day and 200 day moving average and MACD above 0. For the long term the stock should still continue to go up, however with this kind of overbough conditions I prefer stay away for a better opportunity.

Novatel Wireless, Inc.(NASDAQ:NVTL) is a bottom play trying to make a shift in trend and momentum. From a technical perspective, the stock shows a bullish divergence on MACD while Stochastic looks extremely oversold. To return to rally mode, the stock needs to cross its short-term resistance at $3.04. A move above this level would be positive for the stock. A reversal above $3.04 will take the stock higher to $3.30 or $3.60. Short term momentum is oversold with a positive MACD divergence. If the stock breaks through, there is a good chance you will see a strong upside move. In terms of fundamentals the stock looks cheap. It has a book value of $5.21 and the stock is trading at $2.95 this may signal that the stock is undervalued. In addition, the company has about $58 million in cash on the balance sheet with no debt. A major wireless company might find Novatel worthy of an acquisition. The stock is also a short squeeze candidate. Stay tuned.

Looks like the Bulls are going to win this fight. Just one more push to change the trend. Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) had a great move on the upside today and closed at $17.35. The stock is setting up to break out and has one more level to go, which is $19.19. The stock has good upside potential, so keep watching the stock for further moves.

6 Stocks that worth watching

Yingli Green Energy Hold. Co. Ltd. (NYSE:YGE) continues to show strength as the rise in volume confirms the price uptick ! The stock hit a high of $5.38, which is now resistance for Wednesday’s continuation move. If the stock can break through resistance, we should see another strong upside move. YGE will move very quickly, so watch the stock closely on Wednesday.

Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD) stock broke out above $45 on really good volume. All moving averages are below turning up for support. I like this for a swing trade.

InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC) stock has just started moving higher and established a short term up-trend. Momentum indicators are slightly bullish now with RSI inching away above the middle level. The strongest sign of a bullish momentum is the MACD indicator which is currently above the 0 line and DI+ crossed above DI-. Watching for $43.09 breakout. This momentum could push this stock much higher from here, so keep the stock on your radar for Wednesday’s trading day, as there is good upside potential in this move. If the stock breaks its 50-day MA at 43.09 the initial target is $45, followed by $49.23.

Pacific Ethanol Inc (NASDAQ:PEIX) is attempting to regain its 200-day moving average which has served as critical resistance and is likely to continue to do so. The near-term outlook will depend on the price movement in the next few days. A close above $1.33 will impart bullishness and will help the stock move to the 1.50 - 1.61 zone.

Bullish setups that you should watch next week

Ariad Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARIA) hit a new 52-week high on Friday, trading as high as $14.50, before settling at a close of $14.42. I'll be watching the stock on Tuesday, looking for a follow through move. As long as the stock stay above $13.50, the bullish scenario still intact. Technical chart shows very strong bullish sign. First of all, the stock is trading above both 50-day and 200-day moving average with both moving average pointing upwards. Then the MACD indicator is rising above zero also indicating a buy. In addition, KD line still show the stock is on the positive swing.

Dendreon Corporation (NASDAQ:DNDN) is strong and getting stronger every day it seems. If it can close above $14.66, then expect more upside. If this happens, DNDN is a good play. The daily chart shows the stock is in a short-term bull market as the stock is trading above 20-day and 50-day moving with both moving average pointing upwards. I think the stock should continue to go up.

Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN) is clearly in an impulsive wave upwards. If you are on board, there is nothing more to do but enjoy the ride. On the daily chart, the technical indicators show a continuation of the trend with MACD and RSI in the Bullish areas. Long-term investors may hold with a stop at $26.97.

Let’s take a look again at Novatel Wireless, Inc.(NASDAQ:NVTL). Today, the stock traded just like the overall market.It started the day weak, but rallied to go positive and closed at the highs of the day. This could be the start of a trend reversal for NVTL. From TA view, the stock shows a bullish divergence on MACD while Stochastic look oversold. To return to rally mode, the stock needs to cross its short-term resistance at $3.14. A move above this level would be positive for the stock. A reversal above $3.14 will take the stock higher to $3.30 or $3.60. Short term momentum is oversold with a positive MACD divergence. If the stock breaks through, there is a good chance you will see a strong upside move, so watch the stock very closely tomorrow. Despite today’s candle, the overall chart pattern for DNDN looks good. Probably, the stock just needs to consolidate the recent gains from the last few days, but I would say that this up trend will have a continuation soon.The stock price continues to be strong. Chart shows big accumulation. MACD still moving up and is above the zero line. In addition, the momentum indicator MFI still showing strong demand in this upward trend. I suppose we might see some consolidation here before the next leg up IMO.

I told you yesterday about Pacific Biosciences of California (NASDAQ:PACB) and today the stock successfully broke the resistance with unusual volumes. This is a very bullish development. Short-term technical indicators are strong and the MACD on the daily chart recently produced a new buy signal. If the stock can break today’s high of $3.74, we should see a strong follow through move. PACB will move very quickly, so keep a very close eye on the stock.

Renren Inc (NYSE:RENN) stock seems to have broken above the 2 month resistance of $4 on relatively higher volume. The next resistance that it should try to respect is at 4.50. Looking at the technical indicators, we have the MACD near the Zero Line and RSI Above 50% level. Stay tuned.

Ciena Corporation (NASDAQ:CIEN) has been going up for 4 weeks now. The stock looks quite intact in its uptrend as long as its value is maintained above the immediate support line. As long as the stock stays inside this channel, the bullish scenario is still intact. Technical chart shows bullish sign with %K line on top of %D line and MACD on top of signal line. Next targets for the stock are $14.89 and $15.53. Only a close below $13.50 reverses the current uptrend.

Dendreon Corporation (NASDAQ:DNDN) seems in a strong bullish mood and broke today an important resistance at $13.95 on heavy volume. The technical chart is scary good it is making me think of buying more "IMO" this is going to explode all indicators are pointing upwards for the first time in a while and there's a huge gap to be filled. OBV shows strong accumulation and MFI spiked upwards, suggesting strong demand. Technically, there is no resistance above until $22. Great long swing trade imo. Huge volume, multi-day momentum.

The OBV shows a strong positive divergence from the chart action. The company has a market cap under $100 mil with $55 mil in cash and no debt.

JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE:JKS) - I believe this stock has already bottomed and a new uptrend should be on the way. Stock closed at $5.21 above of its 20-day moving average, generally considered a Buy signal in short-term. From the six month technical chart we can see that the buyers came back today, with volume picking up. In addition, chart shows Positive divergences in MACD and RSI. Bullish ADX crossover. Its short interest is 25% of its total shares outstanding. Its days to cover is 10, calculated as current short interest divided by average daily volume. JKS looks like it is gaining steam again. InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC) stock is facing resistance from its 50 day SMA, but there is a good possibility that it will be back in bullish territory soon. Resistances from the 50 day SMA and the 43.25 level need to be crossed convincingly. The technical indicators are supporting the bullishness. Once volume shows up I expect it will take off. Hold.

Sirius XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) stock hit a new six month high today of 2.08 but has reversed most of its early gain and closed at $2.05. The main technical indicators remain conducive, which means the up move should continue this week. The MACD is positive and above the signal line. The RSI is above the 50% and the slow stochastic has entered its overbought zone. A bit of correction or consolidation here may provide the impetus to the bulls to take the stock to a new six-month high.

The down trend in the ReneSola Ltd. (NYSE:SOL) stock has turned into a bear market, confirmed by the death cross in May 2011. The recent rally faced strong resistance from the falling 50 day SMA. The technical indicators are mildly bullish. Observant readers may notice the positive divergences. Buy only on a clear break above the 50-day SMA.

Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN) broke out of the cup and handle pattern today with a successful close above it. Bullish.

After gaining 1 percent for most of the session, THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) spiked in the last minutes of trading to finish at 81 cents, up 9 percent, or 7 cents on no news. The volume was also relatively high and reached 1.7 Million of shares. Whether today's performance could be the start of a real bounce or it's was just a temporary support level, is not yet clear. So, it will require confirmation tomorrow to see if the rally is sustainable.

Dendreon Corporation (NASDAQ:DNDN) is overextended to the upside and signficantly overbought. So don't be surprised if the stock takes a break and corrects back toward $12 before moving higher again. I'd prefer to open new positions on a dip. Technically, the stock is extremely overbought, so we cannot rule out a pull back but at the same time it can remain overbought until it wants to come down. Stay tuned.

Dendreon Corporation (NASDAQ:DNDN) is breaking out with rising volumes. Next resistance lies at 12.69 and a close above this level will bring a target of 13.95. Stop loss should be 9.22 for all long positions on daily closing basis. Now, that the stock is on an uptrend and the MACD indicator is above signal line any pull back would mean great buying opportunity.

The stock is at a critical level in its recent uptrend and has been a market outperformer. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is at a critical level and a convincing close above 422.86 will give it room to go for the recent high of 426.70, however I took some profits off the table today. I guess next week will tell me if I was right or wrong. I sold my long position for a profit of $29 per share or 7.5%.

Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN) has made a cup and handle chart pattern in daily charts and looks set for newer highs. Technically, the stock is still in strong bull market as both 50-day and 200-day moving averages are going up, with MACD on top of signal line and also KD at high level. So far NUAN is a good stock to hold for long time.

I'm accumulating shares of InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC) in antecipation of good news from the CES in Las Vegas. From a technical perspective the stock is trapped between its 20-week and 50-week moving averages. Long positions can be considered with a stop loss of $38.51 on daily closing basis. Targets are $45 and $49.30.

Although the moving average still shows weakness as 50-day SMA is below 200-day SMA, positive momentum seems to be back as the stock is back above 20 day moving average. In addition, the MACD is also back above 0 indicating the stock is back in bull market. The stock has build a support around 2.45 and 2.70 recently and has the chance to go up. Any breakout above 50 day moving average will be positive sign. Keep it in your watchlist.

Technical Setups on watch for Friday

Oclaro, Inc. (OCLR) stock surged 15.65 percent to $3.40 today after the company raised its second quarter preliminary revenue guidance to about $86 million from the previous forecast of $75 million to $85 million, while Street predicts $80.69 million. From the technical analysis perspective, the outlook for OCLR is relatively bullish. Stochastic, MACD and ADX charts are flashing bullish signals. Also significant was that the stock closed above a key resistance point of $3.25. I will be watching the stock on Friday for a continuation move. Resistance for this move is $3.53, which reflects Thursday’s high of the day.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is poised to breakout to new highs. The technical chart above shows very strong upward momentum as the stock is above the major moving averages with both 50 day and 200 day moving average going up. All indicators still point to a bull market. No signals of a reversal, still holding this.

MGIC Investment Corp. (NYSE:MTG) had a huge breakout day on heavy volume. The next key resistance levels are located at $4.44 and $4.75. The technical daily chart shows the stock is currently in the rally as %K line is rising on top of %D line, indicate buy signal. Shareholders may remain invested with a stop- loss at $3.64.

Today marked an important shift in Sirius XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) shares as they closed above a major horizontal resistance line that has been forming since September last year. The stock was one of the big winners, closing up 21 cents on the day. SIRI traded heavy volume as it hit a high of $2.04. This high is resistance for Friday’s continuation move. Looking at the technical chart I see a stock that cleared a sideways consolidation base. Next resistance lies at $2.25. Keep SIRI on your radar for Friday’s trading day.

After Pacific Biosciences of California (NASDAQ:PACB) bottomed out at $2.25 on December 19, price action is up a healthy 35%...pushing the stock from below the 20-day SMA to near the 50-day SMA. RSI simultaneously regained the 50-point line that indicates positive momentum is back at the PACB party. The technical indicator MACD is also near to cross above signal again, alerting traders throughout the market that the stock is back on the move. In addition, the recent accumulation has been interesting to say the least. So, keep an eye on PACB for a possible breakout over $3.03.

Lululemon Athletica inc. (NASDAQ:LULU) - The stock closed at $51.15, up $4.12 (+8.76%) on volume of 7.47 Million. LULU has a good looking stock chart price broke out from the horizontal resistance mark around $50. All indicators are now in favor of an upward price movement. Intermediate resistances for the stock exists in the zone between $52.57 and $52.81. This momentum could push this stock much higher from here, so keep it on the radar.

Denison Mines Corp. (NYSEAMEX:DNN) was a nice runner from the buy list yesterday. The stock has finally closed above its 50 week moving average currently placed around levels of $1.41. This stock has just started moving higher and established a short term up-trend. Momentum indicators are slightly bullish now with RSI inching away above the middle level. The strongest sign of a bullish momentum is the MACD indicator which has just started to increase. The On Balance Volume is also showing positive signs on the stock. Price is expected to at least rally the next resistance at $1.68.

5 Stocks Worth Watching

Shares of USEC Inc. (NYSE:USU) soared 13% or 15 cents to $1.29 per shares on heavy volume. The stock has had a rough time over the past weeks, but today’s bounce could be the first move to recovery. The technical chart shows the stock is in a rally as %K line is rising on top of %D line as the price is back above 20-day moving average. Another bullish indicator is the MACD which is showing a bullish divergence, while we are not so far to cross his neutral signal. In addition, the short-term downtrend line has been broken. At this stage, we can expect to see higher prices in the days to come.

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) has been under pressure recently but in the last sessions the stock reversal its trend. I like the chart formation for this stock and expect to see a stronger breakout move. Resistance is now $3.29. Keep the stock on your radar for the next few trading days. If the stock can break through resistance, we should see a strong upside move. I notice that +DI is also above –DI, which indicates a continuation of the up trend.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) - On the tehcnical chart the present uptrend is getting confirmed as the days go on. The major trend is still bullish as we can see on the chart above. I'm using today’s high of $668.15 as resistance for tomorrow. A break above that area could trigger further bullish momentum towards $680.

Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI) broke its 50-day MA today on strong volume and could eventually rally up to test $1.5 area. In addition KD also indicate positive momentum.

Renren Inc (NYSE:RENN) was one of the winners on Friday, as the stock closed up 25 cents on the day with huge volumes. The technical daily chart shows the rally is back again as %K line has just crossed on top over %D line and stock is back above 20-day moving average, a positive signal. Moreover, the daily RSI is also displaying positive divergence and has recovered from deeply oversold levels. The outlook is positive and a move to 3.7-4 appears likely. Over the last 52 weeks RENN has ranged from a low of $3.21 to a high of $24. Shares shorted have decreased 9.4% from 5,502,700 to 4,982,300 month-over-month. Next targets for the stock are $4 and $4.42.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is flagging near resistance on low volume since the move up. It would be very attractive as a long candidate if it holds its ground here and then turns higher. MACD is still on the positive zone. RSI is still at high 60s. Accumulation/Distribution chart is still on the upmove and the stock is comfortably above the 200 and 100-day moving average. Given the current stock levels, it is important for it to break $409. Fresh exposure on this stock can be taken only if it breaks this level and if there is strong volumes in this movement. I'm still holding shares from $393.

General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) - Consolidating after a huge run up. A buy if $17.60 holds.

Pacific Biosciences of California (NASDAQ:PACB) - Still like this one. A break of $3.08 and this could fly. The accumulation/distribution chart is showing some strength in this movement, which a good sign as investors are not using this movement to get out of the stock. MACD is also showing some strength and looks like it could give a buy signal sometime soon.

Elan Corporation, plc (NYSE:ELN) - Nice move up on big volume on Friday. I'm going to keep an eye on it and see how it reacts tomorrow. The volume chart from "On Balance Volume" has been on an upside. However, for the stock to move from this level would be difficult as the RSI indicator is in the mid 70s. So, there is a strong possibility of the stock to correct back to probably $13 before an upside target of $14.25. On the contrary, a close above $14.02 would have bullish implications and would push the stock to the 14.32-14.50 range. Hold with a stop-loss at 13.25. Existing holders could remain invested. The bias is bullish in nearest term.

Stocks to Watch for the Last Day of 2011

XenoPort, Inc. (NASDAQ:XNPT) made a new low today but ended in the positive with strong volume. The stock looks oversold and could bounce starting tomorrow. Looking closely at the daily technical chart the MACD is showing a bullish divergence. This signifies that the prevailing trend is weak. If the prices fall to a new low but MACD traces a more shallow low, it would mean that bulls are ready to gain control, and this would identify strength at stock bottoms. In the above chart, you can see that bears are losing some momentum. One positive sign comes from insider transaction as company directors have been buying tons of shares since November. XenoPort, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing a portfolio of internally discovered product candidates, which utilizes the body’s natural nutrient transport mechanisms to improve the therapeutic benefits of existing drugs. It has a market cap. of 127.62M no debt and lot's of cash $103M. Shares shorted have decreased from 2,973,400 to 2,749,900 month-over-month. The stock is a short squeeze candidate, with a short float at 8.1% (equivalent to 8 days of average volume). Of the 9 analysts that have set a target price on XNPT, the lowest price target stands at $7.00. This implies a current upside of 95% from current levels around $3.60. I bought today some shares very close to today's bottom. The stock seems to be undervalued and there is still good room for appreciation.

Furniture Brands International, Inc. (NYSE:FBN) broke the horizontal resistance line today on strong volume and could eventually rally up to test its 50-day SMA. Looking at the technical daily chart the near-term outlook is very positive and a move to the 1.31-1.35 range appears likely. In addition KD also indicate positive momentum.

Braskem SA (NYSE:BAK) suffered 3 straight selling days this week with the stock breaking the support at 14. The stock closed below this key support level for the first time in over four weeks, this is something worth watching. The stock is still in very weak market as 50-day moving average is still declining and MACD is still below 0. Stochastics and RSI are both in the oversold area. I'm now being cautious until we close back over $14.98. This is not yet the time to buy the stock.

Plains Exploration & Production Company (NYSE:PXP) - The technical daily chart above of PXP, shows very bullish signal as 50-day moving average has just crossed on top over 200-day moving average forming the Golden Cross. With the bullish sign formed and MACD also back above 0 we should see the stock take off from now on, so be patience on PXP because we can see soon a nice rally.

Pacific Ethanol Inc (NASDAQ:PEIX) ended the day with a heavy gain of 27 cents (30%) to $1.15. It pushed higher throughout the day and closed out the session near its highs. This creates a bullish scenario for tomorrow, one in which the stock opens the day a few ticks higher and then continues its rally. The break of resistance $1.10 (20-day SMA ) with high volume is great. The next point of interest is the 200-day SMA at $1.54.

Brown Shoe Company, Inc. (NYSE:BWS) will be a stock to keep a close eye on the next few days. The stock is trapped between its major moving averages and imply that a breakout of the trapped zone must occur. At the moment, this signals indecision and no clear direction. Stay tuned !!

FormFactor, Inc. (NASDAQ:FORM) - Technically, short term outlook has turned better after holding well above the $5 level and 10-d SMA (4.92) supports, underpinned by improving technical readings of its daily charts. Additionally, the chart shows a MACD crossover, a bullish sign. Immediate supports are $5 and $4.92 (10-d SMA). Long-term investors may hold with a stop at $4.68.

Zalicus, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZLCS) - Wedbush Analysts in a research note issued to investors today reaffirmed its “Outperform” rating on Zalicus Inc with a $5.00 price target. Also, analysts at MLV & Co initiated coverage on shares of Zalicus Inc last week with “buy” rating and a $4.00 price target on the stock. The stock is currently trading at $1.20 which is far from the targets mentioned by the analysts. I'm still holding my long position bought at $1.12 waiting for a huge increase in the share price that could happen at any time. If you look closely at the technical indicator OBV, you can see a strong uptrend which means accumulation is going on.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) broke out from a small ascending triangle pattern and closed at the highest since January. From here, I see a high probability for continuation of this momentum throughout this week towards the 650-670 range, which is the next resistance area.

Nanosphere, Inc. (NASDAQ:NSPH) had a big day on Tuesday, jumping 26 cents, or 20%, on 1.09 million shares. That was the second biggest volume in about three months. If it gets through the high, which is at about $1.75, this stock could explode into the stratosphere.

Oclaro, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCLR) recovered nicely today and can potentially set-up very well for a swing-trade if the stock breaks through the resistance level at $3.32. Technical indicators are becoming more favorable with MACD and RSI starting to turn up. There could be good upside in this trade, so watch OCLR closely this week.

Tuesday was perfect Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ALXN) because it set a new all time high on big volume coming out of a consolidation. This is the perfect set-up for buying stocks. I'll be watching the stock tomorrow, looking for a follow through move. As long as the stock stay above $70, the bullish scenario still intact. Technical chart shows very strong bullish sign. First of all the stock is trading above both 50-day and 200-day moving average with both moving average pointing upwards. Then the MACD indicator is rising above "0" also indicating a buy. In addition, KD line still show the stock is on the positive swing.

What I like best about Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp. (NYSE:KOG) is the relative performance it has exhibited in the last few weeks with respect to the overall markets. A bullish volume pattern has been formed in the last few weeks. On Friday, the stock made a breakout of its recent high with high volumes. Technical indicators are supporting the bulls. EMA's are moving up and RSI is also moving up and above its 50% level. Stochastic is also moving up and above its 50% level. Buy KOG around $9.23 with stop loss of $8.83 for the short term targets of $9.76 and $10. The stock looks bullish on charts. Keep a close eye on the stock for the follow through move on Tuesday.

Elan Corporation, plc (NYSE:ELN) continues to hold $12.60 but trade in a narrow range. Shareholders are probably getting frustrated because the stock doesn't move much higher from here, however the short term uptrend line still intact. As long as the stock trades above this support, investors can hold it with stop-loss at $12.55. ELN is a great company and I plan to buy the stock on a close over $13.14

From my point of view, there are solid and consistent buyers here. GNBT's chart suggest that increased buy side activity could push share prices to much higher levels. Generex Biotechnology Corporation (PINK:GNBT) could touch an upside target of $.22 in the medium term. Existing holders could remain invested. The bias is bullish in nearest term. A close above $.194 would impart bullishness and would help the stock move to the $.20-$.22 area. There is a lot of upside potential in GNBT, so keep watching for the breakout move.

Dendreon Corporation (NASDAQ:DNDN) - From a technical standpoint, there are some signs of a possible bounce here due to the oversold indicators and some positive divergences, which often leads to short covering. Let’s see whether the stock can gather enough momentum to break through $7.96.

Greetings everybody !!! JKS strong enough to say...........and the Bulls are back! JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE:JKS) was an alert from Wednesday at $5.25 via twitter and it closed the day at $5.83 for gains of over 10%. The stock price also broke above the 20-day SMA accompanied by large volume, a sign that the sky rocketing action has credibility and is not just some result of speculations. The price can head towards the $6.95-$7 zone. If this zone is surpassed, getting to $9 would be a possibility.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is trying to break $400 ...... a psychological mark ...... from there it's a rocket to the top. Don't be fooled by the Bears....

Pacific Biosciences of California (NASDAQ:PACB) had a very good bullish rally this week accompanied with large volume. This stock is good to hold for the short term. PACB currently stopped short of breaking the resistance at $2.90 which is the resistance line formed from November. Also watch out for other resistance levels at $3.15 which is the 50 day moving average. Currently, the technical indicators are displaying good signs. Buy if resistance is broken with good volume, possible target price is around $4.17.

TriQuint Semiconductor (NASDAQ:TQNT) - The break of the 50-day SMA with heavy volume should be the next buy point on TQNT. The technical daily chart above shows the momentum indicators have turned up and the RSI is on the rise. Although both 50 day and 200 day moving average are showing weakness, KD line is indicating upward swing. For the short term the stock should still continue to go up. A close above $5.24 would have positive implications and could push the stock to the 6-6.5 range.

Zalicus, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZLCS) chart also looks good. The stock has been in a nice uptrend for the last two weeks and it looks very strong with both 20 day and 50 day moving average going up. The technical daily chart above is showing bullish bias. MACD is indicating that the current short term price trend is very bullish. In addition, the On Balance Volume is increasing, indicating accumulation of shares in the market. I'm still maintaining the buy rating on ZLCS as the technical chart still shows very bullish sign as 20 day moving average is on top over 50 day moving average with MACD above 0.

Shares of Zalicus, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZLCS) surged 6.61% to $1.29 per share after MLV & Co initiates coverage on Zalicus with a Buy rating and a $4 target price to reflect the company's clinical development for 2012. From a technical standpoint, the stock still looks very strong with both 20 day and 50 day moving average going up while MACD is above 0 and %K line is on top of %D line. In addition the OBV suggests strong accumulation is going on. Today’s high was $1.32, which is resistance for the follow through move on Thursday. If the stock does break resistance, expect to see another strong upside move. There looks to be more room in this move, so watch the stock closely over the next few days.

Hercules Offshore, Inc. (NASDAQ:HERO) started the day weak, but rallied to go positive and closed near the highs of the day. This could be the start of a trend reversal for HERO, which is why I'll be watching the stock on Thursday. Resistance is $4.44, which was Wednesday’s high of the day. If the stock breaks through, there is a good chance you will see a strong upside move, so watch the stock very closely tomorrow. In addition, the Chaikin Money Flow Index is showing a rising move, indicating a rising money flow into the stock. Keep HERO on your radar for Thursday’s trading session.

Sounds like JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE:JKS) is gaining some momentum again. The stock has made a strong bounce off of the lows that were posted last week with good volume. The technical daily chart shows possible new rally as %K line is back above %D line, while the RSI is also gaining strength. If a proper breakout happens at $5.50 we can see a target of $6.97.

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) has been in an upwards trend the past few weeks and looks ready to continue this move. Today, the stock ended up 22 cents, which was respectable in this weak market. PFE is worth watching on Thursday, especially if the market shows strength. Resistance is $21.73, which reflects Wednesday’s high of the day.

3 Long setups to watch on Wednesday

The daily technical chart shows an up trend for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and the price has been well supported by the 200-day SMA over the past 3 months. The daily MACD lines, MACD-histogram, 10-day SMA and stochastics are all rising. In addition, the stock broke its 50-day moving average and could break 396.41 next on its way to a target of 404 to 409 if the market continues with its recovery. These factors support a bullish move.

Air Lease Corp (NYSE:AL) looks like is close to attempting a breakout. This strength is confirmed by price movement as well as two momentum indicators. MACD and RSI show buy signal as MACD is above signal line and RSI above its 50% level. The stock has held its 50-day MA as support and is displaying a screaming buy divergence on the upside. AL is also slowly under accumulation based on the OBV indicator. I think the market is waiting for fresh news to define the trend, however if the stock breaks above $23.75, then that is a bullish sign as higher prices.

Hercules Offshore, Inc.(NASDAQ:HERO) caught my attention today. The signal to buy was given today when the previous day high at $4.23 was taken out. This breakout suggests a possible move to $4.50. Technical indicators such as KD also show buy signal as %K line has just crossed on top over %D line. Although the stock didn't perform well this month, we start to see now some signals of rebound as the technical chart shows positive momentum is back. Stay tuned !!

Elan Corporation, plc (NYSE:ELN) is setting up for a very interesting upside move. The stock hit a high of $12.60 today, but was not able to above this level. I expect to see a high volume move once the stock breaks through resistance, as traders are watching this stock closely. From a technical standpoint, this stock is currently in an uptrend and is finding support from its 50-day MA at 11.10 . The OBV is showing a rising move, indicating a rising money flow into the stock. Keep the stock on your screen because once ELN breaks through resistance, the stock should take off and move quickly.

Sirius XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) - From a short-term perspective, the stock remains trapped between support at its 50-day moving average and resistance at its 200-day moving average. A close above $1.88 would be bullish for the long term.

If you paid attention to Saturday's alert and got into GNBT at the opening bell, congratulations !!! My tip was great !!! Now that you are aware of Generex Biotechnology Corporation (NASDAQ:GNBT), I suggest that you keep it on your radar. The stock broke out today of its 200-day MA on heavy volume. If this chart does what is supposed to do, GNBT will be going higher in the days to come. Today's high of $.194 is resistance for the continuation move. At this stage, the stock is too extended for additional positions, and is in the overbought zone. I really like the chart but at this level I would wait for a pull back before putting any cash to work. Keep the stock on your radar.

Stocks on watch for next week

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) was one of the winners on Friday. The stock closed just below the high of the day which tells us there were buyers in the stock all day. This is a strong sign moving forward. The major technical indicators are looking better now for the stock. Looking at the technical chart the stock has just entered into a short-term bull market as the stock is on top of 13-day and 20-day moving averages. Other technical indicator such as MACD, is showing positive momentum while KD line also show buy signal as %K line is on top of %D line. Technically speaking the stock is now painting a short-term Bullish picture. Next resistance lies only at $3.33.

Sourcefire, Inc. (NASDAQ:FIRE) broke out on Friday and made a new 52-week high of $35.90. I'm keeping FIRE on the list for the continuation move. The stock had big buyers in it all day and looks ready to make another move on Monday. The technical chart shows a continuation of the trend with MACD and RSI in the Bullish areas. Watch the stock closely next week and once it breaks $35.90, get ready to jump in and buy the stock.

Last week, Generex Biotechnology Corporation (NASDAQ:GNBT) had a huge rally of about 70% on heavy volume. The stock is displaying a strong upside momentum again. Nearest resistance for the stock is at $.16 ( 200-day MA ). If this level is crossed and the stock is able to sustain above this level, then it might go to $.22. On the downside, the stock has support at $.12. The stock is currently in a new uptrend. The technical daily chart is showing a strong bullish bias. On Balance Volume is increasing, indicating accumulation of shares in the market and KD line is indicating upward swing. Watch GNBT closely on Monday. I feel this stock will easily make a strong move to the upside on any positive news.

Oclaro, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCLR) had a slightly bullish day on Friday again but the price is struggling around the 20-day MA line resistance. Consistent move above $2.90 ( the trend line resistance ) could be a beginning of a new technical bullish reversal at least testing 3.3/3.40 area. Immediate support is at 2.78 followed by 2.68.

The outlook for Elan Corporation, plc (NYSE:ELN) is positive and a move to 12.07-12.20 appears likely. The positive outlook would be in force as long as the stock remains above the 50-day moving average. Remain invested with a stop-loss at $11.06. The technical daily chart show a continuation of the trend with MACD and RSI trending upwards.

I've mentioned Zalicus, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZLCS) for the bulls out there. I stand by this position. It looks like it is starting to turn back up and indicators are giving the first bullish signs. I am looking to see this stock re-test its October highs shortly. The OBV is increasing and the stock price has regained its position above the 50-day MA. The nearest trend is in favour of Bulls and ZLCS has room to go higher. If the stock can break through $1.25, we should see strong volume drive the stock higher. You need to watch the stock closely because it could break resistance soon.

ABAT ran for over 100% when I first alerted on Monday via twitter and made my members substantial gains !!! Once again and based on yesterday's post, the stock performed according to my expectations today rewarding traders with a swift and easy 30% gain ! But from what I'm seeing right now... As the chart noted earlier, one of the key resistances was 87 cents ( 50-day MA ), and traders accumulated stock fast enough to bull rush past that point and reach 90 cents. Even after its 100% bounce, ABAT 's chart does not seem to indicate the stock being overbought. Plus, the accumulation remains extremely strong, which shows how hungry traders seem to be for ABAT shares. Volume today topped a stunning 1.5 million shares very strong and encouraging turnover, to say the least ! Looking at the technical daily chart above, it seems the stock broke the strong resistance area at $.87 and has moved decisively to the upside. That is a powerful sign that high prices are likely to continue. Long positions may be considered on price weakness, with a stop-loss at $.64 The next resistance it could encounter is at $1.10. Once that level is breached, the next resistance could be its 200-day MA at $1.49. Remember traders to always use stop-loss orders to secure profits and minimize your losses.

Shares of Career Education Corp. (NASDAQ:CECO) are starting to heat up again and are worth watching. Next resistance is now located at $7.17 ( 20-day MA ) and if the stock breaks above this level, you could see a nice pop.

Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPPI) enjoys a strong support at the $13.66 area. Only a close below this zone would have negative implications. The medium-term trend is bullish and would remain so, as long as the stock holds above this area.

Heckmann Corporation (NYSE:HEK) continued to show strength with another gain on strong volume. Long entry is at $6.65.

I mentioned Zalicus, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZLCS) before as a stock I was watching for an entry on. Stock has been in a very clear downtrend until some recent consolidation in the $1.05 area. There has been a decent increase in volume signaling of accumulation. The stock showed more signs of strength on today's session, as the stock closed up 10 cents on the day.

A quick look at the technical chart :

1) ZLCS is currently moving up with heavy volume
2) 20 day moving average crossed the 50 day moving average to the upside.
3) MACD lines are going up
4) RSI still above the neutral 50 level at 57, buyers strength still persists.
5) Money Flow-Index still climbing.
6) The +DI crossed up through the -DI this month - Bullish.
7) %K line has crossed on top over %D line
8) OBV still climbing.

The strong accumulation over the past weeks has shown funds moving into the company and moved share prices upward. Keep watching ZLCS this week since anticipated increased volume tomorrow that could push shares higher. Given how high ZLCS has gone in the past, this could be a great buying opportunity if it sees a strong rally ! Don't miss this opportunity research the stock now !

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) made a nice reversal today and finished stronger. The technical chart above suggests that stock might find now resistance at $3.04. Only a close above this level would suggest further upside.

Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc. (PINK:ABAT) made a strong upside reversal this week. On Monday, I alerted my twitter followers for a possible strong rebound. The technical chart above suggests that stock might find now resistance at $.87. Only a close above this level would suggest further upside. I think the stock is due for recovery as %K line has crossed on top over %D line. The stock needs to close above $.912 in order to alleviate the negative near term view. Remain invested with a stop loss at $.48.

Eli Lilly & Co. (NYSE:LLY) broke out to a new all-time high today, accompained by a strong volume suggesting higher levels. The technical chart still showing a bullish bias. KD line shows positive signs as %K line is rising on top over %D line and RSI continue moving up. I suspect the stock may continue to appreciate over the coming days.

Zalicus, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZLCS) - Volume precedes big moves. From a chart perspective, it suggests that further upside should be seen this week, but much will be dependant on how the news ( Oppenheimer 22nd Annual Healthcare Conference ) is received. MFI is forming higher lows and higher highs. OBV shows some accumulation. All technicals point to an improvement in short term sentiments.

Shares of Mad Catz Interactive fell by 3% or 2 cents to $.60. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $.54 and as high as $2.39. On average, 462300 shares of MCZ exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 366.894. MCZ tried to get above the $1 level 2 months ago but failed and in the process the stock broke below the 50-day MA and is now under short-term selling pressure. The stock now shows multiple bottoms between 0.55 and 0.73. On the daily time-frame, the MACD-histogram has been sloping up and the 7-MA has just ticked up to give a buy signal on the Impulse System. The slow stochastics and RSI are both rising, indicating bullishness. Resistance is at $.66 and support at $.55. Any break above or below either of those 2 levels is likely to stimulate further movement in that direction. So, put MCZ on your radar and watch it trade !

4 stocks to watch in the week ahead

Shares of Solarwinds, Inc. (NYSE: SWI ) joined the bull party today and made a new 52-week high of $33.68. Looking at the technical chart the stock is well above the three moving averages, which are all moving up. The bulls may continue their domination but stay cautious because some technical indicators are displaying negative divergences as they failed to make new highs. Honestly, I believe that a short correction may be in the offing but the bull rally is under no immediate threat.

Shares of Nike, Inc. (NYSE: NKE ) embarked on another leg of the strong bull rally that took it to a new 52-week high of 98.25 today on rising volumes. All three moving averages are rising and the stock is well above the three moving averages. The technical indicators are supporting the bullishness. The slow stochastic has moved up into the overbought zone and the MACD is moving up in the positive zone and is above the signal line. Watch the stock closely next week and once it breaks $98.25, get ready to jump in and buy the stock.

Sirius XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) - The 50-day MA provided good support this week. So in short-term the bull market continues, but the momentum won't be regained till the high of 1.92 made last week is convincingly crossed. The technical indicators are showing mixed signals. The indicator slow stochastic had a bearish cross and dropped below the 50% level, but the MACD still above its signal line.

Technical Analysis of Apple Inc. ( AAPL )

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) - The stock chart pattern managed to avoid breaking its 200-day MA last month by a whisker. The stock did drop below the 365 level to 363.32 on Nov 25 but it immediately started to move upwards and formed a "V" bottom. So, from a technical perspective, the earlier bottom can be considered as a support. The up move on good volumes is too convincing. The stock faced resistance from the confluence point of the 50-day and 100-day MAs. Technically speaking, the MA's confluence points can also act as a bullish signal. In addition, the 200-day MA is rising smartly and the stock is trading now well above it, so the long-term bull market is under no threat. We will need to observe the stock closely in the near term. The technical indicators are looking mildly bullish. The RSI has crossed above the 50% level and the MFI is moving sideways above the 50 % level, giving the bulls some hope of recovery. The MACD is touching the flat signal line. Expect a bit of consolidation here. I am long on APPLE and I will add more shares on a move above $396, with the expectation of a continued rise to $410. My stop loss will be placed $1 below its 200-day MA.

Zalicus, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZLCS) - The stock has penetrated both the 20 day-MA and the 50 day-MA from below, indicating bullishness. Bottomline? There is strong support on the medium term charts at $.90, from where it bounced back recently. But, the increase in volumes and the 20 day-MA ready to cut across the 50 day-MA from below may be the first signs of a trend change. The stock fell on low volume on Thrusday, a good sign. I like the stock as long as $1.05 holds.

Today's chart of the day is Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPPI). What I like about this stock is the relative performance it has exhibited in the last few weeks with respect to the overall markets. The stock chart pattern continued its bullish fervour today, making another new high of $15.09. Looking at the technical chart the slow stochastic and MACD continued to move up in the overbought zone. The RSI moved sideways above the 70% level. All three EMAs are moving up and the stock is well above them. A short correction may be in the offing, but the bull rally is under no immediate threat.

Shares of Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) also joined the bull party and made a new high of $25.78. The stock is well above the 3 EMAs, which are all moving up. The slow stochastic is moving up in the overbought zone. The MACD is rising in the positive zone and is above the signal line. The RSI is also moving up above the 50% level. The bulls may continue their domination, but you should be prepared for a possible correction.

Pacific Biosciences of California (NASDAQ:PACB) saw continued buying pressure today. I alerted this stock to my twitter follwers at $2.59. I think current levels offer a great chance to play a rebound in shares. The stock closed today at $2.70. From a technical standpoint, the stock has build a support around $2.39 and $2.45 recently and do has the chance to go up. Any breakout above 50-day MA will be positive sign.

Advance America, Cash Advance Centers (NYSE:AEA) has made a new 52-week high of $9.44, after gaining 2.19% in today's trading. The 52-week range for AEA is $4.70-$9.44. Although sentiment remains bullish on the stock, overbought conditions could see a corrective decline in the coming sessions. Immediate support is at $8.90-9 levels now. Looking at the technical chart the stock is trading above all of three major moving averages. In addition, the MACD is positive and rising. Nevertheless, there is a need for some profit-taking for some consolidation from these high levels. For those who did not have a chance to buy the stock, any pull back is your buying opportunity.

Pacific Ethanol Inc (NASDAQ:PEIX) is facing a key resistance at $1.60 levels. The short-term uptrend is intact and signals further bullishness on this stock. Buy the stock in dips with tight stop-loss at $1.10.

Today was another good day for Zalicus, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZLCS). The stock finished the day up 3.45% on huge volume of over 1.8 Million of shares traded and is already up more than 25% since my initial alert on twitter. Great volume and a 3% gain on the day makes the stock a clear and easy winner. Looking at the technical daily chart this looks to be just the beginning of ZLCS's run and I’m extremely confident that the gains will continue. Right now, the stock is testing a short-term resistance at $1.20. ZLCS appears to be under accumulation again. The MACD momentum has turned positive and Stochastic are on a strong uptrend which when combined with the strengthening MACD could spell a strong move for the stock. The stock is beginning to turn and I want you to be able to see as much of this move as possible.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTIC) traded higher today after the company announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Division of Oncology Products 1 has notified CTI that CTI's October 2011 resubmitted New Drug Application is considered a complete, Class 2 response to the FDA's April 2010 complete response letter ("CRL"). The FDA has set a Prescription Drug User Fee Act goal date of April 24, 2012 for a decision on the NDA. The NDA seeks accelerated approval of pixantrone to treat relapsed or refractory aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma ("NHL") in patients who failed two or more lines of prior therapy. CTIC hit a high of $1.43, which is resistance for the continuation move. There are several short and mid term technical indications suggesting that the stock could make a move to higher levels. Keep an eye on CTIC again on Wednesday.

Biotech Stocks On the Move

Even with no news, shares of Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARNA) have been doing very well recently, rising from $1.23 cents in October to $1.90 today, a 60% plus gain in three months. Let's take a detail look at the stock and see if the stock is worth buying. The technical chart above shows the stock is on a bull market as the stock is trading above both 50-day and 200-day MA and 50-day MA is on top of 200-day MA heading upwards. Other technical indicator such as MACD, is above "0" showing positive momentum while KD line also show buy signal as %K line is on top of %D line. Today’s high was $1.94, which is resistance for the follow through move on Tuesday. If the stock does break resistance, expect to see another strong upside move. I like the stock as long as it remains above $1.60.

Zalicus, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZLCS) had a large volume and large spread on Monday after the company announced the initiation of a Phase 1 clinical trial evaluating the pharmacokinetics and safety of a new formulation of Z160 (formerly NMED-160), a oral N-type calcium channel blocker. Z160 has been reformulated with multiple delivery techniques to address previous solubility and bioavailability issues . At this point, I could not see any formation in the chart, at the very least, it could have broken out of a downtrend with a target price of above $1.54. Currently the stock has already reached 1.16 so this means a lot are still hoping for ZLCS to move higher. Larger volume on the upward movement means you should buy this stock. In addition, the MACD is displaying a new bullish crossover. At the same time, we see that the daily stochastics are showing positive momentum from oversold levels, which should reinforce a move higher if near-term resistance at $1.19 is taken out. The near-term upside objective is at $1.54.

Affymax, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFFY) traded higher on Monday, after U.S. regulators said the company’s experimental anemia medicine works as well as drugs sold by Amgen Inc. (AMGN) and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) for patients with chronic kidney disease. The stock hit a high of $6.59 on the day, which is resistance for Tuesday’s continuation move. If the stock can break through this level, I expect to see a strong upside move.

Bullish moves on the stock are taking place over the last session’s. The stock hit a new 52-week high of $10.79, which is now resistance for tuesday’s continuation move. If the stock can break through resistance, we should see another strong upside move. VIVUS, Inc. (NASDAQ:VVUS) will move very quickly, so watch the stock closely on tuesday.

Some possible bounce plays to watch next week

The company on the spotlight today is XenoPort, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing a portfolio of internally discovered product candidates, which utilizes the body’s natural nutrient transport mechanisms to improve the therapeutic benefits of existing drugs. The stock on Friday surged 5% or 23 cents to $4.83 per share at two times average volume after the company announced that has received confirmation from its partner, Astellas Pharma Inc., that, following a meeting on December 2, 2011 in Japan, the drug evaluation committee of the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare ("MHLW") recommended approval of gabapentin enacarbil, which will be known by the trade name Regnite in Japan, for the treatment of Restless Legs Syndrome. This positive recommendation will be reviewed by the MHLW prior to its final decision on authorizing the marketing of Regnite in Japan for the treatment of Restless Legs Syndrome. The MHLW will issue a final notification to Astellas regarding its decision, which the Company expects to occur in the first quarter of 2012.

Lets take look at the stock in more detail to see if this is the stock worth buying. XNPT is trading above its 13-day moving average and is approaching its 50-day moving average. A strong bullish trend is often established once shares cross the 50-day MA. The stock has witnessed phenomenal gains in valuation when volume enters. For example, in August shares of XNPT experienced a surge of over 38% in just 5 days !! So, with an influx of volume and light resistance above, the stock could make a solid upward move. There has been building support on shares of XNPT in the past few days with overall higher highs and higher lows, and I believe that from current levels which I believe are now trading at a deep discount from the past investors could witness a solid appreciation in value.

Accuray Incorporated (NASDAQ:ARAY) close the week above its 50-day MA and has broken above its small consolidating range with rising volumes. MACD triggered a buy signal this week also moving slightly near the 0 line. The MACD looks bullish moving higher. The 20 DMA upward cross through the 50 DMA is bullish. The setup indicates that the stock has ample scope to move up.

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVTL) - The daily MACD triggered a Buy signal on Friday and the Histogram turned positive on the daily. The stock needs to take out resistance at the 3.25 area to continue higher. It needs more time to set up again. Keeping it on the list.

TriQuint Semiconductor (NASDAQ:TQNT) nice follow through. From the technical chart MACD and KD both signal positive strength. Looking at the insider transaction I see one recent acquisition of 100,000 shares at a cost of $4.31 from the Director Steven Sharp showing the management is bullish of the company's outlook ( Yesterday I alerted my followers on twitter) . In the past twelve months, 2 other insiders purchased shares, in 5 transactions, for a total cost of $179,656 at an average of $4.73 per share.

A closer look at the technical chart shows the stock broke out of a well defined descending channel formation dating back to November 14th on heavy volume. Poised to run higher. Next line of resistance $1.91 range. Furthermore, based upon watching the trading activity on Friday, I believe that the positive sentiment could be additional reason for investors to look for higher prices and confirmation of an upward trend reversal.

TriQuint Semiconductor (NASDAQ:TQNT) ruled firm as anticipated in the morning on Twitter. The stock closed the day near highs which leads me to believe the rally will continue on Friday. The near-term trend is positive and a move past the immediate resistance at $4.66 would impart bullish momentum. The strength of the bounce off $4 indicates that the stock may have found some short term support from which is can launch a new rally. The daily MACD's bullish crossover suggests further gains for the stock. In addition, RSI is increasing and is near the 50% level. The short term stochastic signal is also showing some positive sign. Let’s see whether the stock can gather enough momentum to break through $4.66.

Trina Solar Limited (ADR) (NYSE:TSL) - Daily MACD line has just given a bullish crossover signal with the signal line. The MACD-histogram is sloping up, indicating that the bears are losing momentum. Both the RSI and stochastic oscillator are moving up, indicating bullishness. These factors support a bullish move.

NetSpend Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:NTSP) - The major resistance has been broken in this technical chart. The price can move up to $7.35-$7.50 in the short-term.

Accompanied with good volumes Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPPI) marked an all-time high in the last trading session. With this, the daily momentum indicator has reached overbought levels and I believe that a near-term correction is likely to happen.

The price movement in the last couple of days indicates that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has formed a short-term bottom at $363. A move to the $390-$392 range appears likely, however the stock needs to take out the 20-day moving average first.

Oclaro, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCLR) performed well today, closing up 12%. Could this be the start of a rally ? If it's, the stock got off on the right foot today.

Today Pacific Biosciences of California (NASDAQ:PACB) surged over 14% on heavy volume, what looks like the start of a strong bounce. With the 50-day MA sitting close to $3.45 and the 200-day MA over $9, this stock has a lot of room to run on any rally. Looking closely at the chart the stock remains oversold.

OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:OVTI) is a stock I brought to my twitter at $10.47 as a possible bounce play, it hit $10.84 today and looks poised for further gains. The stochastic shows signs of recovery from oversold territory. This stock should make for a nice trade the next few sessions. Stop loss must be placed at $10.15. Stay tuned .
